IVAW: “send mccain back to his cage at the hanoi hilton”

| November 17, 2008

NOTE: Title of this thread comes from the CAPTION on the IVAW facebook website in support of their unlawful, horseshoe wannabes from NY.

First a little background. Back in October, the miscreants and phony combat veterans of IVAW attended the Presidential Debate at Hofstra University. According to Democracy Now:

Outside the Obama-McCain debate, at least fifteen people were arrested at a protest organized by Iraq Veterans Against the War. IVAW member Nick Morgan was left bloodied and nearly unconscious after being trampled by a police officer on horseback. […] The protest was organized by IVAW members Matthis Chiroux and Kris Goldsmith. Last week, Chiroux sent a letter to CBS debate moderator Bob Schieffer spelling out the demands of IVAW and demanding that at least two veterans be allowed entry into the debate to ask Senators Obama and McCain one question each. He did not receive a response.

So, they didn’t listen to police, got trampled. You mess with the bull, you get the horns, son. But, Matthis is VERY brave, as evidenced by the heroic 6 days he spent on Bagram Air Base which constituted his complete and total deployment anywhere that had lead poisoning going around.

Last week, Kelly Dougherty, Executive Director of IVAW informed the IVAW Watching community that at long last peace and justice would be served, to wit, that President-Elect Obama would be visiting with IVAW:

IVAW has been working to hold a face-to-face meeting with now President-elect and members of his staff. Our hard work has paid off! We’ve recently been contacted by a member of President-elect Obama’s veteran staff and will be meeting with representatives of both his Veteran and Foreign Affairs Committees this month. This is a huge opportunity for IVAW to assert our voice and perspective at a new level and to continue to demand accountability for ending the occupation.

Now, I found that piece of shit above a little bit ago, and decided to see what would happen if anything. The so-called Hempstead 15 have their own Facebook site devoted to explaining how the fascist police of Nassau are all undercover stormtroopers led by Darth Cheney, and their death steeds are a menace to freedom loving people’s everywhere. The leaders of this website are none other than Chiroux and Goldsmith:

So anyway, go look at the pictures.  Just look up “I support the Hempstead 15” in facebook and you will find them.  The one captioned “send mccain back to his cage at the hanoi hilton”  is picture # 24/34.

Now, this picture has been up there since October 20. That is 3 days shy of a month ago. It was posted by one of their supporters, Aron Kay. Look at his picture, and note who the second from the right friend of his is.  (If youcan’t make it out, he’s at least “facebook friends” with Bill Ayers.)

Aron “The Pieman” Kay has an AWESOME website which proudly proclaims:

THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
SUPPORT OUR COMRADES IN ST.PAUL!
BUSTED FOR:
OPPOSING THE REPUKELIKKKAN WAR MACHINE

FREE THE RNC 8 NOW

“Pieman” has a hell of a bio on that page as well, but I’m not linking to it, cause this dude clearly gets off on any attention he gets:

Two figures have been especially prominent in the rise of confectionery as an instrument of political protest. In the U.S. left-wing activist Aron Kay has been dubbed “The Pieman” for a whole series of attacks stretching across almost three decades, and including such victims as right-wing political commentator William F. Buckley, former CIA director William Colby and former New York Mayor Abe Beame.

Now, several things. Yes, this picture was uploaded by some unhinged lunatic, and not IVAW directly. BUT THE DAMN PICTURE HAS BEEN THERE FOR 28 DAYS WITHOUT IVAW and the HEMPSTEAD 15 TAKING IT DOWN.

Second, whenever a picture is uploaded to your group on Facebook, you get an email letting you know of that fact.

Third, since that picture was put up, an additional 23 have been added by various people, including phony Afghan Combat veteran Matthis Chiroux. You would have to ascribe to a theory that he put the pics up, then didn’t bother to go an check out his own site in order to buy into what I am sure will be the inevitable “we didn’t see it” defense.

Fourth: Yes, I know the source of the pamphlet is a anarchist group.  They are loons.  But IVAW keeps trying to portray itself as mainstream, and now they have a meeting with the President Elect and/or his staff.  How about you freak shows grow up and act like adults?  I don’t know anyone who takes you seriously, but apparently the White House does.

I wonder if the Obama people understand just the type of lunatics they will be meeting with?

Perhaps we ought to let him know?

PS:  At least there may be 2 sane people in IVAW that disapprove:

You know, I do not like McCain’s policies, but that does not make stuff like this okay. This is not only not about the Hempstead 15, not supportive of the Hempstead 15, it’s also disrespectful to veterans. It’s the exact kind of attacks we condemn the right wing for making about us and our people. What happened to being the change we want to see in the world?

We can’t defeat terror by becoming terror. Bush has tried for 8 years to fight terror with terror: it hasn’t worked. I agree with Selena – if we are going to change things, we have to be that change.
Besides, McCain lost the election. How did Obama say it? “Don’t Boo: Vote.” and that’s what America did.

Such patriotic folks, those IVAW turds. The rants spewed by these ‘tarded derelicts, prove without a doubt that their ‘service’ whatever form it took, was certainly less than honorable. They bring nothing but shame and disgrace.
They show their asses to the world and everyone gets to see what happens when juvenile delinquents are free to run loose in public.

Skye

Two sane characters in IVAW are the only ones who consistently take their meds.

I hope the Manchurian elect sends a rep to meet with these fools. He or she (will need independent chromosome verification) will agree with their insipid demands and promise IVAW nothing.

Just like every politician or their reps have done in the past.

YatYas

TSO, thanks for keeping an eye on IVAW. Please keep an eye on VFP, Code Pink and all the other supposed peace freaks of the left. I look forward to watching them piss and moan if Obama stays at least tough on Al Qaeda and Afghanistan.

LT Nixon

Why does a nice person like Selena continue to have to make excuses for the clown-show antics of IVAW? She should find a new gig.

The Way Backward…

Apparently, the Obama-elect administration is going to meet with the Iraq Veterans Against the War. Now, while there may be one or two decent and well-intentioned folk among them, as whole, they generally are charlatans and liars (hence their dire…

Lucky

TSO, I have dealt with these loonies before. Ms. Coppa is not a sane individual. If you disagree with their viewpoint, they brand you a traitor to the Constitution, and a “Phony Veteran”. I think they are just projecting their own labels onto other vets. Their leader, Adam Kokesh is a disgraced Marine, who attempted to steal and smuggle home his USMC issued M9, was demoted from SGT to CPL and is considered a “Non-Hacker” by the 3rd CAG. Selena has a tendency to violate the UCMJ and is just as crazy as the main group of the IVAW. She posted some pretty inappropriate photos on a facebook Military Support Group for family members, and refused to remove them. When prompted, she started spewing crazy rhetoric.

Lucky

IVAW is generally made up of the “Non-Hackers”, slckers, losers, rule breakers, and idiots who don’t want to listen or are too stupid to follow their Squad Leader’s orders. They complain, bitch and moan, and if you disagree, their response is to try to convince everyone else in the room that you “are not a Veteran, or are pretending to be one.” They seem to project the labels given to them onto others.

SomeSoldier'sMom

TSO – do we have a fax, email or mail address for the “Obama Team” (whatever the hell that is)? Need to work up a letter of protest — if they are going to meet with “Veterans” groups — then they need to meet with ALL vets group (or a representative sample) and demand that Vets For Freedom, IAVA (I know, they already HAVE a seat at the table), maybe Pajamas Media reps to monitor & report on the meeting/s??

We need to start organizing (as in, let’s organize!) this “push back” movement now and then keep it as a “You Don’t Speak for Me” Watchdog group on all these left wing, anti-military groups muscling for a seat at the O’s table… and on legislation and policies of the new Administration.

I’ve emailed with Selena and spoken with her. She is a good soldier, a good person, and she speaks/argues her position well. I don’t know Lucky above and would like to see links to what he/she says about her. I started my interaction with Selena in a negative frame of mind because of her association with IVAW, but she is a good representative of someone who serves honorably and still objects to the war in Iraq on a personal level.

ArmySergeant

TSO,

Given that it was not actually an IVAW member who posted that, but one of the 4,141 members of the support group, I find your title rather misleading. However, I do appreciate you clarifying that it was not an IVAW member who posted that, which is more than Blackfive apparently did.

LT Nixon: There are a lot of good people who are members of IVAW, I hope someday you will get to meet them.

I believe, though I’m not sure, that what Lucky is talking about is my posting of Operation First Casualty photos to a facebook group in favor of the troops, but that didn’t take any one position on the war. Those do in fact exist, for the doubters! Those are the only photos I’ve ever posted on facebook that anyone’s thought were inappropriate. I didn’t agree, because they were photos of troops. The moderators didn’t ask me to take them down, but there was a gentleman who I vaguely recall getting into an argument with myself and later Adam Kokesh about the photos. I’m not sure where he’s coming up with the UCMJ violations, though. I’ll try to look myself.

LL: Thank you. I hope that we can continue to agree to disagree peacefully, and through our differences help to show how strong America is-that it can have different voices, but that all in all, we do a pretty good job. I also hope to show you more examples of IVAW members that I think you would like-I think it’s much easier to be against us from a distance. I think both sides would be served by talking a lot more.

Thus Spake Ortner

28 days now AS. I don’t care if the pope or the grinch who stole Christmas put them up, the fact that the 2 guys in charge of that site haven’t taken them down implies acceptance and agreement with the sentiments contained therein. I’ve defended you in the past, there is no defending this unconscionable act, and if you put as much effort into contacting Matthis and Goldsmith to have the pics taken down as you did posting here, this issue would be moot.

Mr Wolf

HOW MANY of these ‘members’ are actually IZ/AF VETERANS? One? Two?
Isn’t the group IRAQ VETERANS agains the war?

Don’t see many ‘vets’ here. Move along- nothing to see here.

Methinks someday they’ll have a congressional candidate announcing from their living rooms, too. Ayers much?

Wolf

ArmySergeant

The photo has been taken down.

Jonn wrote: Why because TSO busted you on it? Why didn’t it come down yesterday when he pointed it out to you eight hours before he wrote this post? The photo is not coming down here – because what’s in your collective heart is in that .jpg. No one did anything about it until TSO and Blackfive made a stink.

Lucky

Thank you Selena, I may not agree with your politics, but you have at least making an effort to play nicely

ArmySergeant

Jonn:

The administrators had to take it down, and they did.

Wolf Just because you don’t see them, doesn’t mean they’re not there.

Skye

Wolf Just because you don’t see them, doesn’t mean they’re not there.

They are simply statistically insignificant.

Lucky

They took the photos down because, Sophia, they were in bad taste, as are most things done by your little group. The Administrators removed those photos AND all IVAW members due to vulgar comments, threats, and harassment toward anyone in the group who asked for the removal of the pictures or asked you to desist. Wow. Nice. Way to go hero.

Raoul

“First Casualty” was the name of VVAW newsletter for a while.

Recycling it as name for the IVAW’s reenactment of VVAW’s “Operation Dewey Canyon” protest is just more proof that VVAW is the puppet master pulling the IVAW’s strings.

Lucky

The word TOOL fits these assclowns and non-hackers perfectly

ArmySergeant

Lucky:

On the off chance that you’re referring to me when you talk about Sophia, I just visited the group, of which I’m still a member, and there are still several OFC pics up, as well as the other pics I uploaded.

However, you’re certainly welcome to your interpretation.

malclave

“which is more than Blackfive apparently did.”

Well, in fairness, the post was just made today. Isn’t expecting an update that quickly kind of unreasonable? Give it 28 days or so.

Lucky

Lol, those pictures have been removed as have you and your “friends” from that group. I can have the Administrators remove them again, if you so prefer, and the comments your group made “miss” Coppa, well, making high schoolers cry, verbally and physically threatening induviduals, and attempting to claim that others are “Obviously not Combat Veterans” because they called your group out are not the ways that sane people handle themselves in a discussion. Then there was that loony toon friend of yours who starting ranting about the Builderberger group and how it was destabilizing Democracy. IVAW is really a piece of work. You claim to be upholding the Constitution, and Democracy, but your tactics are on the scale of the Stasi or the KGB. Again, way to go hero, you are a NO GO at this station.

ArmySergeant

Lucky,

I’m not sure where you’re getting your information from, given I just clicked on the link in my groups five seconds ago, and saw both my photos still present, and my membership in the support the troops group still valid.

However: it’s Facebook. If you would like to contact the administrators of a support-the-troops website to get them to kick a troop off the group for existing and having anti-war opinions, feel free. It really isn’t going to make me lose any sleep at night.

lucky

Lol, those pictures were removed months ago. The fact that Sophia is not even attempting to deny the fact that her “legitimate” group uses Communist style tactics when they don’t get their way. Sophia, you are fighting a hell of a losing battle here. Give up, go home.

lucky

And the photos are not at the link “Sarge” I just looked, can’t even get those facts straight, huh?

Kevin R.C. O'Brien

Typical of IAVA and IVAW scrotes. They’re all at the VA dealing with their combat injuries — slip n’ fall in the kitchen, paper cuts in the S-2 office… or just severe imagination overload. Do these guys always think they were combat vets, or do they sometimes think they’re Napoleon?

Bertram Elizarraras

Generally I don’t learn article on blogs, however I would like to say that this write-up very pressured me to take a look at and do it! Your writing taste has been amazed me. Thanks, very nice article.
