Guardsman steals IDs of troops
Associated Press reports that Keith Michael Novak, a member of the Minnesota National Guard and a commander of his own “militia” unit is being sought by Feds for stealing information from his former 82d Airborne unit and offering to sell it to undercover FBI agents to create identities for his fellow militia members;
[He] was charged with stealing names, federal identification numbers and security clearance levels of roughly 400 members of his former Army unit in North Carolina so he could make fake IDs for his militia members.
And he doesn’t plan on going out quietly;
According to a federal complaint and affidavit obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press, 25-year-old Keith Michael Novak threatened to use violence if authorities came to arrest him.
“I’ve my AK in my bed. If I hear that door kick, it’s going boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. I’m just going to start putting them through the (expletive) wall,” he told an undercover FBI employee in July, according to the affidavit unsealed Wednesday.
The article continues that Novak is an Iraq War veteran and served in the 82d as an intelligence analyst from 2009 – 2012.
The undercover employees met Novak in Minnesota in July, and he gave them an electronic copy of classified documents and taught them how to encrypt files, the affidavit said. He also said that he had a personnel roster — including names, birthdates and Social Security numbers — of a “Battalion’s-worth of people” from his former unit.
The undercover employees said they wanted that information and knew someone who could make fake IDs, which Novak said he needed for his militia. On Nov. 4, Novak sent the information for 44 individuals to an undercover FBI employee. On Nov. 25, he accepted $2,000 and said he had additional pages to sell, the affidavit said.
I’m guessing that the last thing you want to do when you find out that the FBI is coming for you, is tell them that you sleep with an AK.

He must not have much of an intel analyst, either.
I’m betting that his bragging about taking them out is all talk. Of course, to be on the safe side, the FBI will probably send in the drone strike to take him out. It’s legal to do so, according to Holder.
What the hell is it with intel analysts these days…..
Money, money, money. And he’s paranoid on top of that.
“You’ll never take me alive, you dirty cop-pahs.”
Oh. Okay. No problem.
The FBI, (Fabulous Bunch of Investigators) have this one under control. After they get through with him, his house will be one big pile of ruble.
This is SO ripe for satire. Paranoid, greedy, untrustable 😉 , knows all the ropes — we should get him and psulie-boi the uncoolie-boi together for a party.
After it’s all said and done, after his trial, conviction, and sentencing (provided the Government doesn’t flub the case up), his first day in prison will be like this:
Cellmate: How long are ya’ in for?
Novak: xx years.
Cellmate: xx years? we’ll be together so long, it’ll be like we’re married, what do you want to be, Husband or Wife?
Novak; HUSBAND!!
Cellmate: OK, now GET OVER HERE and give your Wife a blowjob, BITCH!!
And that will be about the same time that Bubba, Thor, Tyrone, & company literally straighten his ass out!!
It is jackasses like these idiots that paint all of us that believe in a Constitutional Republic instead of a Progressive Socialist system with the same kind of crazy brush. The leftist media just loves stories like this to show how any one that goes against the so-called normal is nothing short of bat shit crazy.
He just had to go and steal the PPI of innocent soldiers that shared in the same ideological beliefs(Mention any type of gun control in my former Guard unit and you got the evil eye real damn quick)that he has, and as evidence is gathered, his sole motivation will come out as nothing but monetary gain for his greedy worthless ass.
I’m no hard-ass intelligence analyst, and though I played Call of Duty twice, it was one of the old WW2 versions. That only qualifies me as a badass know it all if it involves a Garand or STG 44, so maybe one of you army guys or players of modern video games that include AK47s can help me out.
If you hear someone kick the door down, why would you shoot at the wall, and not the dudes coming through the door?
Is that tough guy code speak for something different that I don’t know about? Or does he think he can just guess which side of the door folks are stacked up on and accurately blast them all in the minute span of time that exists after the door is kicked but before the trained shooters come rolling in?
If its option #2, I don’t see how the UC guys could have kept a straight face when he said it. It would also, if I were in this clown’s “militia”, make me question dear leader.
@10 Who knows with dumbasses like him. Maybe his “boom, boom, boom”, was indicating he had rigged the door with explosives. Or maybe they are just the noises he hears in his tiny brain. I agree with some of the above posts. What is with the intel community? Are they just not doing background checks for mental state before they make a person an analyst? One way or the other, the other being the FBI screws this up, they will get him.
@10. It’s the FBI. No one is going through a door. As OT speculates, they’ll be using hardware of a special type. He says drone bombardment. I say tank.
Remember the air attack in Philadelphia years ago? I think the PD used a helicopter to bomb a house. It worked, except for the three city blocks the ensuing fire also destroyed, not to mention the five kids who were killed. Something like that, perhaps.
FYI The link is not working any more but other google results of his name give you this…
” Novak, of Maplewood, was in federal custody Wednesday and unavailable for comment. ”

@#: Dude, that’s like looking at Bales and the Stryker ‘kill team’ and saying “What the hell is it with Infantry these days?”
Shitbags are gonna shitbag, regardless of MOS.
Militia units are a joke. The libtards love to paint them as dangerous foes because it helps scare people into falling for their anti-gun bullshit. Militia types tend to be ex-pogues and gun nuts who know jack shit. Any decent police department would turn them into grease spots.
#3 I was thinking the same thing. Apparently INSCOM needs to screen a little better in the future.
#3/#17, With Snowden, Manning and god knows how many other jackasses we haven’t heard about yet, they definitely need to clean house on the intel community.
Of course, now that we know that Leon Panetta was the one who spilled all the classified info on the Bin Laden raid to the Hollywood people, it gets a lot harder to lecture the rank-and-file about keeping their mouths shut….
I was going to ask if maybe they’d just set a sharpshooter out and let him drop the idiot since he’s actively threatened something. Then I realized it’s the FBI and they’ll probably drive an APC through his house and the surrounding neighbors’ houses. It’s the only way to be sure. And burn the stuff left standing. And accidentally spread it beyond that. Why am I hearing Monty Python music whenever I think of FBI actions in situations like this?
Also, the Brady Campaign’s running a pretty bad commercial on youtube now. It talks about ‘badguy’ being denied a gun at a gun store because of the Brady Campaign’s benevolence! Since he’s a badguy, he’s not deterred and he’ll go online and buy the gun there since 40% of gun sales are done without background checks. You don’t support badguy do you? So why does your congressman!
It’s cute that they’re lying through their teeth, since we’re all aware that they don’t even have to get online to get a damn gun illegally and that won’t change.
yeah, that 40% number is being thrown around a lot… ‘course, Brady et al don’t want to tell the truth and say “well, about 38% of gun sales are private sales between friends and family members, with maybe another 2% which are illegal sales which don’t go through the Internet anyway”. That would be beyond their abilities.
When I think of militias I put them on the same level as the idiots who wander around gun ranges with their go-fast/low-drag clothing and weapons, keeping their fully-tricked up ARs on the 25 yard line, referring to themselves as “operators”.
He’s a special kind of stupid, isn’t he?!
@20, I actually have had a friendly one one one competition with one of those tricked out AR owners, but in this case the range was only 7 yards and I used a S&W 357mag vs. his super AR. This individual now knows that training and experience trumps expensive toys with unneeded gadgets.
