Patty Murray lies to constituent

| March 9, 2012

“NOT Larry the Cable Guy” sent us a letter he got from his Senator, Patty Murray after he asked about the POW issue that we’ve been harping on.

First of all, TWO phony POWs in the entire country is a little bit suspect. I’ll bet that there’s more than two who are listed as POWs (we’ll use her number 15,000) just because of clerical errors. But more importantly, no such recorded communication exists between Murray and Shinseki.

As most of you know, in our quest to take over the world, TAH has tentacles that reach to Capitol Hill and when I emailed our insurgent yesterday with the letter, he quickly fired it off the Veterans Affairs Committee staff who promptly called him back to tell him that there was no committee hearing that month, and no record of communication that would support that conversation between Murray and Shinseki. So unless they talked on the phone, it never happened.

Mary Schantag, after I showed her the letter, said that she has evidence of HUNDREDS of phony POWs. So if Shinseki did tell Murray that in an unlogged, unofficial phone call, he’s lying, too. Hell, we’ve busted more than two phony POWs here at TAH. But as it stands right now, it’s just Murray lying to her constituency.

I don’t understand the motivation for covering up for these people – unless they’re covering for their friends and supporters. The word on the street is that there’s a bomb about to explode on this issue and a boatload of VA officials are about to get ‘sploded. And they’ll have TAH to thank for it.

Great job keeping their feet to the fire. I love this blog…it makes shit happen.

What cakmakli said!

But.. are we comparing apples to apples here? Are you talking about the phony POWs who are liars just out there in the weeds talking about it or are we talking about the ones that have actually filed paperwork and are receiving VA benefits from fraudulent claims?

The document noted above specifies that they found two that had received benefits so if they’re only limiting it to that criteria then regardless of the mystery meeting, the VA and Congress once again just fails to assist on managing the asshats out here who pretend to be something they are not and gain benefits from local individuals and businesses who believe the claims.

Sgt K

A politician lying??? Why I never…

Thanks to all those doing the heavy lifting on this, including the Mad Monk Squadron here at TAH.

It seems the government can roll out all sorts of fancy programs that can track and store data for a host of different things (including a whopper of a database on felons and others who can’t purchase firearms); yet they can’t put together a database of actual POWs so that when someone puts in a claim which includes POW status, it can be automatically run through the database and flagged if the person isn’t on the list?

Virtual Insanity

Mark,

Also a significantly higher number of POW license plates issued in many states than there should be.

Virtual Insanity

FWIW, Patty Murray was my senator, and “Baghdad Jim” McDermott my congressman when I retired form active service. I am proud to say I am now a constituent of Sens. Sessions and Shelby.

OWB

Way to go everyone who has kept the heat on this issue!

OK … I’m pissed again for the third time today! I am having trouble with the VA: 2 blown out ear drums; a lower back that does not work anymore; arthritis from a shattered left wrist; and other more minor service connected diabilities. Now I did wait till’ I retired and I know they are backed up with more important and pressing cases … wait … I have an idea … I AM SINGULARLY BRILLIANT. A little bit of White Out, a Smith Corona typewriter and I am in business. Sh!t I can even get my NYS POW Licence PLate. Everyone upstate has them, including one fu#kstick I caught a few months ago who’s closest time in the service was probably related to watching re-runs of the Rat Patrol and McCale’s Navy. I will just tell the VA that I am a COLD WAR – PRISONER OF WAR (with PTSD of course). YEAH … free money!

Mark Christianson: to follow up on what Jonn said: in a previous article here, Jonn observed that (1) there were only ever 661 Vietnam POWs returned alive; (2) about 500 Vietnam-era POWs alive today, and (3) the VA has reported paying VA compensation to approx 1000 persons as Vietnam POWs. Obviously, that means about 500 persons are defrauding the VA on that basis alone.

And don’t get me started on such obvious other VA frauds as our “Chippendale SEAL’s” 100% VA disability on the basis of PTSD for combat in Libya during El Dorado Canyon when he was neither a SEAL or in Libya.

Continuing to poke the bear:
Does this rise to meet the elements of mail fraud to send false information in official government documents through the mail?

UpNorth

@#12, I do believe it does, Raven.
18 USC 1341 states, “Whoever, having devised or intending to devise any scheme or artifice to defraud, or for obtaining money or property by means of false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises”, then there’s a whole lot of things it relates to, including using the mail or a “carrier”, but it seems obvious on it’s face. Which means that maybe TSO or Susan or another of our lawyers could wade in.

WOTN

I wonder if the career Senator realized that she was attempting to pull the wool over more than one pair of eyes?

I wonder how many other times she has simply made up a story to explain how she was way ahead of her constituents concerns, and people just took her at her word.

streetsweeper

Far too many, WOTN…the majority of her district.

UpNorth

To be clear, I was referring to the phony POW’s who submit claims, if they use the mail, in #13. Not to a pol using the mails to lie to constituents. There aren’t enough US attorneys in the world to keep track of that. Can anyone imagine how busy the US attorneys in Sheila Jackson Lee’s district, or Dingy Harry’s state would be?
