Dan Choi in Moscow

| May 29, 2011

I guess the DADT warrior, Dan Choi, has a “thing” for cops. War On Terror News reports that he’s been arrested in Moscow for brawling with anti-gay protesters there;

Russian officials have detained three global gay rights leaders, and dozens of others, after they tried to stage an unsanctioned rally near the Kremlin.

Police say a small crowd of marchers, some waving rainbow flags and others carrying signs that read, “Russia is not Iran,” was attacked by an ultra-Orthodox group who had successfully lobbied the Moscow city government to ban the event.

I wonder what they’re trying to prevent him from doing in the above picture? And do they have a hand over his ass-crack, too?

I don’t think he’ll get off as easily as he got off in DC this year.

Maybe they’ll keep him?

God, we can’t be THAT lucky, could we Pons?

play nice

They’re playing the Russian street version of “Twister”.

One of the strangest headlocks I’ve ever seen. 😉

I like to think of myself as a pro-equality kind of person, but it baffles me why people of any race, gender or sexual identity would think that buffoonery would earn them the respect they need in order to solve the issue at hand. I know how much it hurts to be discriminated against, but I think there are so many other options one could take to present a peaceful solution.

Sigh…

Old Trooper

I don’t think Choi-boy understands what he’s in for. You’re right, it won’t be like DC.

Ben

@Blanka: What exactly does “pro-equality” mean? Such a stupid phrase. Oh, and “sexual identity”. Did you learn all of your vocabulary words from PFLAG and GLSEN?

Choi’s always looking for trouble and he always finds it. He’s a dram queen extradordaire.

Velcom to Russia, comrade! Gulag suit you fine, yes?

Blanka

@#6 Pro-equality meaning that people should be allowed to present their skills to the world without fear of persecution, thus going beyond external differences such skin color or gender and internal differences such as sexual identity. The beauty of being human is you are born a certain way, or perhaps you even choose to be a certain way, and you need to make the best of it. If you read deeper into my previous comment, you’d realize that I agree with you about Dan’s behavior. There’s a better way for people to come to an agreement than through a dramatic exhibition like that, because it only promotes more resentment. LOL, and no, I din’t learn my words from those above mentioned organizations. I’ve loved both genders. Took me a while to get used to the idea, but hey, I might as well live it up. =) Hope that explains it a little.

I hope Choi’s passport gets lost.

Old Trooper, you got that right. Russian jails and prisons are so far away from what we have here it isn’t funny. People arrested or in prison hang signs or clothing out the window so their family will know where they are, as otherwise they will not know or find out. To call them rough, well… Unless they put him on the VIP path, it will be unlike anything he’s seen or could imagine.

PintoNag

Well, if he didn’t have PTSD before, he will now….

Is this guy still in the army?

Is he still an officer?

My thought here is that if he is, he should be charged with conduct unbecoming an officer. I believe that would be applicable when this guy started a riot, and article 134 is sure as hell applicable.

If OMON (Russian SWAT) broke up Choi-toy’s slap fest, he’s one hurtin’ puppy….

Their motto is, “We know no mercy and do not ask for any.”

Wow, people: And what have YOU done for the advancement of equality today? Choi’s advocacy resume may not be orthodox, or even completely legal, but his individual effort has made a difference. Bottom line: Choi is an American veteran, and he deserves our respect, regardless of our differences of opinion.

Sporkmaster

When you chain yourself to the White House fence and rush out to grab every second of camera time for your own vanity the what is there to respect?

NHSparky

6 years, still a 1st Lt.

Nuff said.

“Choi is an American veteran, and he deserves our respect, regardless of our differences of opinion.”

Funny thing about respect, it is a fungible good. You wouldn’t have us accept that you support Tim McVeigh simply because he was a vet would you? Whatever respect I might have had for Choi dissipated when he chained himself to the White House fence the third time.
