This September, DPAA announced that it had accounted for 2nd Lt. John F. McTigue, US Army. 2nd Lt. McTigue was lost in Germany on 24 August 1944.
2nd Lt. McTigue will be buried next week – on Monday, 18 November – in Woodside, New York. Regrettably, DPAA does not seem to have posted the specific location and time for his funeral services or interment.

Military Rites and Services honoring Private First Class Ray Palmer Fairchild will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 23, 2019 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Brett Unger officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairchild Family Cemetery at Mash Fork in Magoffin County, Kentucky.
Anyone wishing to honor the memory of PFC Ray Palmer Fairchild may do so by visiting the Magoffin County Funeral Home after 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 23, 2019 until time of services at 1:00 P.M.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.

A participant of Operation TIDAL WAVE, the B-24 raid on Ploesti Oil Refinery on 01 Aug 43. 177 B-24s flown on mission, with 53 lost and 55 damaged; one of the costliest bombing missions in USAAF history.

Added note. This was the LOW LEVEL raid on Ploesti. I believe every airman received at least a Distinguished Fling Cross
