Two arrested after man killed, teen hurt in shootout at Cleveland recording studio, police say

CLEVELAND Ohio – A 24-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with a deadly shootout at a recording studio in downtown Cleveland, police said.

A 25-year-old man died after he suffered multiple gunshot wounds about 1:30 a.m. at the studio on Rockwell Avenue near East 18th Street, police said. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office will release his name once his family has been notified.

The 14-year-old boy was also shot in the leg during the incident. He was treated at MetroHealth before being taken to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center.

The 24-year-old man told Cleveland police officers that he was in the studio early Thursday when roughly five males came into the building with guns. He got into a shootout with them, police said.

Investigators did not offer a motive for the shootout.

The group of males left the building and drove in a gray Ford Escape, which they crashed into a pole at the intersection of East 18th Street and Prospect Avenue.

Witnesses said several people got out of the car and ran away after the crash. Two other people left in a separate car, which took them to St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, police said.

Robbery suspect shot by police at Liberty bank identified

By Michelle Nicks, Reporter
The suspect who was shot by a police officer during an attempted armed bank robbery in Liberty has been identified as 23-year-old Dabraylin Hawkins of Youngstown.

The armed suspect was shot by a Liberty Township Police Officer, who was in full uniform and working security at the Home Saving Bank on Belmont Avenue.

It happened Thursday at around 10:00 a.m.

Captain Ray Buhala, the chief investigator for the Liberty Township Police Department, says, “There was a black male that arrived at the bank today, with a firearm.”

But it appears the gunman didn’t count on an armed, uniformed Liberty Police Officer working security at the bank.

Captain Buhala says the officer, who is not being identified at this time, “Engaged that suspect, and shots were exchanged. The suspect was shot, and he did make it out of the bank.”

A shattered bank window may have fallen victim to the shootout. Police could not comment on that saying it’s part of the on-going investigation.

“Mrs. Winner Chicken and Biscuits”

I will let someone else say it.

11B-Mailclerk

Ahem…

“Winner. Winner. Chicken dinner.”

5th/77th FA

Now, now, now. We all know that these were good boys that dindo nuffin. The FIRST perp was actually just trying to procure a box of chicken for the after Choir practice Church social. The young lads in Cleveland just wanted to negotiate a recording contract for the choir singing we found Jesus hymns. And Dabraylin (sigh) only went into the bank to discuss a junior college student loan when he was profiled by the Security Guard and assaulted by same.

My sympathies to the family of the window. I’m sure that they are broken up by their loss.

And that is one more fugly little gun.

Claw

The (sigh) made the Whiz Wheel®™ sit up and take notice and some research revealed that:

Dabraylin Tre Juan Hawkins was shot several times in the “lower extremities” while out on bail awaiting trial from a previous arrest this past March for Assault. His Book of the Face nickname is “Lost Boy” and so he gets a WRT score of 47 x 2 = 94.

Maybe, but Mister Kahr in the small of back rig raises the stakes and Mr Smith in the ankle bracelet takes the hand.

Wear a counterweight on the other side. A heavy gun in an ankle holsters throw off the stride enough to cause problems.

People still go to banks, if only to rob them? Seems so old school in the age of digital currency and Internet commerce.

SgtBob

Still, that’s where ready cash is. (Apologies to Mr. Sutton.)

Sold a vehicle to a guy that financed it thru a bank. $7500. I wanted cash. The bank made me wait three days until the Brinks truck showed up on a Wednesday.

Banks no longer keep cash on hand.
Rob a Dollar Store instead.

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66

We used to deliver what we called fast cash which was needed before the larger FRB cash delivery would be made so it must have been a Fed delivery that the bank was waiting for. I can see the family of the bank robber suing the bank guard for preventing their son from trying to provide the family with some moola shmoola. Looks like the perp at the chicken place himself chickened out by running away.

Home online banking has advantages, but if you print currency at home, the US Secret Service gets a bit testy.

cc senor

Yes, and they’re serious about the significant penalties for early withdrawals.

That’s what she said….

OK, I’m new here, but whatthehell are “Delta Whiskies”???

Welcome to the best blog on the interwebz.

Thx.

Obi

Thx. Glad to be numbered among such an….. intersting… group. 🙂

Note to the Admins: I accidentally clicked on “report comment” and see no way to un-do it. Sorry about that. I haven’t had my Pepsi today.

Claw

Obi, no sweat on the click of the “report comment” button.

The man who established and was the chief administrator of TAH, SFC Jonn Lilyea (RIP)(who passed away a year ago day before yesterday) said that a comment needed to have at least five “Reports” before he would pay any attention to it. Hopefully the current admins are still following this general rule.

So one single “Report” click (IMHO) is not something to be worried about or apologize for (Gibbs Rule #6).

Disclaimer: I am not an admin here at TAH, just a fellow Miscreant Dickweed commenter./smile

Ask ANTIFA, they may know.

What a pain in the glass having that bank window ventilated.
