Tanks, again!

| April 23, 2019

Here you go: for you Armor guys, some tank and heavy armor history, starting with Britain’s introduction of their field tank in World War I.

Enjoy the view. There are several different tanks there. I particularly like the bouncy ride shown by one tank crew. And if you’re going up against someone like Ironman or mechanical spiders, you might need one of these babies.

Yes, that is the nutball who stole an armored vehicle and drove it at 60MPH on the highway, amazing everyone.

That’s an M577 Armored Command Post Vehicle. I drove and TC’d on in both Germany and Korea. Commonly used in battalion and brigade level TOCs (Tactical Operations Center) but we also used it in the DTAC (Division Tactical Command Post) for both 1st Armored and 2nd Infantry divisions.

It’s a relic! My dad probably worked out of the same one in Germany 25 years before me.

Thank You, Ex-PH2 for sharing.

The comments in the video are interesting.

Folks are asking “Why isn’t the Renault F17 Tank on the list?”

Retired Honorary Gunnery Sgt R. Lee Ermey is taking one for a ride…Hee-Ahh!!!

Rest In Peace, Gunnery:

These guys are accessing what they think are a poor Tank (the Japanese Type 95 Ha-Go), a useless Tank (the Australia Sentinel) and the worse Tank in the World (the British Valiant Assault Tank):

Tanks for the videos Girls and Boys. I like (^_^) motion pictures about mobile Artillery. I won’t even throw rocks at anyone over the historical inaccuracies or omissions. Keep up the good work. It is much appreciated.

If the dude pictured got 60mph out of an M577 CP vehicle, he must have had an Abrams turbo in the crew compartment. Top speed on a 577 is 58Kmh.
