Man shot after trying to rob Canton, MD liquor store, police say
By: Justin Fenton

For the second time in two months, the House of Spirits liquor store in Canton was held up at gunpoint. This time, the robber was shot by an employee.

The latest robbery attempt occurred around 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the store, located at the corner of South Patterson Park Avenue and Fleet Street in Canton. Police tape blocked off the store’s entrance, and an employee sought to assure curious patrons and neighbors who visited seeking answers.

He declined to tell a Sun reporter what happened, saying only: “I love my neighbors.” Later, he could be heard telling one neighbor, “Two guys tried to rob us. It didn’t end well for them.”

Police confirmed that a store employee had shot a robber. An off-duty officer heard the shots and helped locate the victim, police said.

A few blocks away, at the southwest corner of Eastern and South Collington avenues, police stood around what appeared to be some of the victim’s belongings. Fresh snow turned red as snow accumulated over blood on the sidewalk.

Police said the victim was seriously wounded and taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was not immediately identified. Police said a gun was recovered.

Police: 90-year-old Homeowner Shot Intruder in the Leg
by Brittany Hayes

BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man from Milanville is facing charges after he tried to break into a home in Wayne County.

According to police, Adam Gelatt, 36, tried to break into a home in Berlin Township around 3 a.m. Friday because he wanted a cigarette.

Gelatt allegedly repeatedly banged on the door and when the homeowner, a 90-year-old man, came to the door, he told Gelatt to leave.

Police say Gelatt told the homeowner he was going to come inside anyway.

The homeowner then shot Gelatt in the leg with a revolver, went inside and called the police.

Officers say when they arrived, they found Gelatt on the porch and transported him to a nearby hospital.

Charges will be filed against Gelatt in Wayne County.

Late arrival: California man arrested in two 1990s cold-case rapes after police use familial DNA testing

A California man is set to be arraigned Monday in a pair of brutal rapes from the 1990s after authorities used familial DNA to track down the suspect, police said Friday.

Kevin Konther, 53, is accused of raping a 9-year-old girl in Lake Forest in October 1995 and a raping a jogger in Mission Viejo in June 1998, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Officials initially collected evidence from the 1995 crime scene and found no match in their database at the time. The DNA in the 1998 crime scene matched the DNA found in the 1995 attack, but police still had no suspect until investigators used the DNA tactic, which also recently helped track down the alleged Golden State Killer, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The DNA evidence discovered was originally linked to two men – twin brothers, and Konther and his brother were originally taken into custody. Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes said “good, old-fashioned detective work” helped authorities narrow it down from there.

“We are confident we have the individual,” Barnes said.

Mr Konther is either going to be someone’s property or used a shank storage unit, hopefully both, in what ever order his owner decides.

Shouldn’t “victim” read perp? Oops my bad PdRofMd. He’ll be up and back at choir practice in no time.

Gun will trump crow bar every time. Usually.

I’ve wanted a cigarette pretty badly on occasion, but never bad enough to get shot over. Good for the old man. Kinda reminds me of the crowd here.

Kothner will last long enough for the boys in cell block C to get tired of his reamed out self. When he is no longer worth more than a few smokes for a “date” he will get his just rewards.

Someone posted on the pinned thread the other day about their objections to the postings of what some would like to happen to someone in prison. I am not a proponent of rape, nor am I homophobic. I also have no true objections to what two or more consenting adults do in private. That being said, there is no punishment too severe, humiliating, degrading, or painful for a child molester/rapist. It would be my desire that when this POS is used and abused by every lifer in the system that he have a slow painful beat to death by soap in a sock. Then God could take his vengeance.

“Gun will trump crow bar every time. Usually.”

Be cool if he shot the crowbar from his hand like in the movies but real life is not
in the movies.

That is because real life is not like mad-up stories to entertain the peeps and proglodyze them into thinking that shooting the weapon out of the assailant’s hand is the only just and reasonable means to stop a threatened assault.

Mr Konther,
Soon to be the prison bitch property and newest employee of the BTJT Prison Deli, home of the cock meat sammich with nut butter, and skin flute sausage smothered in underwear.
By the time he gets out, when he farts, he’ll “whoosh”.
