Cpl Terry Hudson, Beirut KIA #241 … NOT represented by Caragh Fay
The number 241 is significant to many veterans and family next-of-kin for the servicemen killed in Beirut Lebanon on Sunday October 23, 1983. Although there were over 270 men killed in action in Beirut from 1982-1984, most were lost on Oct 23rd. Many are reminded when they see the clock display this number, or see it on a locker, parking space, or other items we encounter in everyday life. I want to remind people of Terry Hudson, who was a Marine that was in the Marine Barracks that morning. Terry was an armorer, so he oversaw a lot of the weapons and ammunition used by the troops. Being an armorer meant that just about everyone knew you. As a result of the bombing, Terry Hudson had over 43 percent of his body burned from the waist up. He had severe inhalation wounds. Three of his fingers had been completely burned off. Terry was transferred to a burn unit in San Antonio Texas and this happened to be close to his family in Alabama. He suffered four heart attacks during his recovery but eventually succumbed to his wounds six weeks later and died on December 5, 1983. Of the men that never left the hospital, he was the last serviceman to die from the Beirut Bombing, and many would say #241. There was a Marine that died a few days before Hudson on December 2, 1983 but his death was announced after Hudson’s, which brought the death toll to 241. Terry’s mother was a divorced single parent struggling to raise 13 children and her lifelong dream was to buy a permanent home. One of Terry Hudson’s last wishes was that he told his sister “Look for a house for Mama” and died before he could see that dream realized. Mrs. Hudson did buy the small home with the SGLI insurance money from Hudson’s death. I only ask that you think of Terry Hudson and the 240 other Marines, sailors and soldiers that died that day. Perhaps others will also remember them everytime they see the number 241 in everyday life.
Terry is only one of the hundreds that the Attorney Caragh Fay does NOT represent…in fact, I have fought for years to get them legal representation in a case against Iran. Caragh Fay has been uncooperative and seemingly obstructive in my opinion.
Category: Terror War
Given the current administration and it’s stance on Iran, one would hope the legal process be expedited.
Not sure if I completely follow this.
If Fay is an attorney for Beirut Marine barracks bombing victims, why wouldn’t she represent Hudson, or Hudson’s estate?
From what I understand, it is a class action suit against Iran, but I could be wrong.
There is a particular terrible that comes from attacks like the Beirut bombing, the attack at Pearl Harbor, or even the Malmedy massacre. I do not refer to the obvious loss of American lives but that the casualties were denied any opportunity to defend themselves and to put it to their attackers. It is for this reason that “Remember ________” is repeated, that those who can act in the name of those lost do so.
You threaten Caragh Fay’s income. That’s why she does not like you and says nasty things to you.
Dave:
Am confused.
Thought Caragh Fay’s father represented all 241 and their families?
https://www.forbes.com/sites/danielfisher/2016/04/22/2-billion-iran-victory-took-an-act-of-congress-several-of-them/
What happened?
So did I in the beginning. They never bothered to contact all the victims.
My guess is there is one large chunk of money that is available. That sum probably gets divided among the victims…the more that are identified the less each one gets.
Thomas Fay (her father) was responsible for taking a chance on the case years ago when there was no serious expectation of a settlement being paid.
However, once it became obvious there was going to be a settlement they should have contacted the remaining victims…they did not.
The Lawyers started suing each other and its my opinion that they are more worried about protecting their own pot of gold from blood money than they are with getting compensation for all deserving.
Caragh and her Daddy have received far more money than any one of the victims has. To the best of my knowledge, they are to get in excess of $800,000,000.
What happened was…they left out hundreds of victims from the very beginning. What is happening now is I can not seem to find a competent lawyer to adjoin them to a case.
The U.S. Government never made any attempt to contact the victims and let them know they qualified for compensation. The U.S. Government does not even have a remotely accurate list of victims or any way of contacting them.
I helped track them all down years ago.
What Ex said. Rinse and repeat.
Dave…Wow…Wow…Wow.
Thank you for sharing this information…and for tracking the victims and their families.
Am speechless about this whole mess.
Thank you for staying on top of this.
Also grateful that you and others gently remind all of us about what happened on 23 October 1983. Thank you for the story about CPL Hudson. There are some folks born after that date and have no clue about Beirut (have no idea if that tragic incident is or was ever taught in History classes in High school).
Just … damn!
800,000,000 ???
Almost a billion dollars is what that lawyer gets and he’s too fucking lazy to contact all the families of the victims of that bombing ???
Dude needs his ass packed with 2,4,6, trinitrotoluene for a good solid enema…
Spoke with one of the Marines that rode the roof down just last night, he wanted to tell me about his trip to the White House. And as he has for years, he reiterated that he wants no part of any monies coming from any lawsuits or settlement. Blood money he calls it, give it to the families of those that were killed. And he’s not the only survivor that’s told me that.
Hmmm… on their website they certainly push the fact that they represent victims of terrorism.

Aaaand… there she is. The “fuck you” lady.
Eternal Vigilance & Remember Eternally….Yet there are people who say it was Reagan & GHW Bush’s fault for us even having troops there. The peace loving driver, a member of that peace loving religion, from that peace loving country, that is constantly oppressed by the imperialistic Zionist, aided and egged on by the Great Satan, just happened to make a wrong turn. When fired upon by the war mongering Devil Dogs, the truck overturned, killing the innocent peace loving driver. The explosion in the barracks was caused by the excess of war materials being stock piled to be used against the peace loving peoples of that peace loving religion of peace….Oh, and lawyers aren’t bitten by sharks due to professional courtesy.
I just want Caragh “Fuck You Asshole” Fay to show the rest of us which one of her clients is more deserving compensation than my brother Cpl Hudson was.
I want her to think about Terry fighting to live for weeks. His wounds were so severe “some of his bones were burn through”. I want her to think about that while she sails around on her new sailboat.
She said FUCK YOU to the wrong Marine…this one is still alive.
Damn again. What can we do Dave? What can be done? My SnL is a damn good Lawyer, former Navy Tea Kettle Operator on Fast Attacks and Boomers. He’s argued cases before the SCOTUS. Believe I’ll e mail this whole link to my Daughter and sic her on him. Have not seen this level of detail on this til now. “this one is still alive” and he has a buncha Brothers at his back. Let us know! jc nsnr
We have identified nearly 300 victims they have not been represented. We have identified several that may have given a false account of themselves to gain compensation.
These victims have no voice, except ours. Contact anyone you think can make a difference…I will talk to anyone about this…anytime… anywhere.
I believe an Accounting Firm is being paid tens of thousands a month to “look after” this blood money.
Everyone seems to be profiting off of the blood of my dead brothers. Except for them and their families of course.
Dave,
I wonder how this could be brought to President Trump’s attention? I’d be willing to bet that he would at least address it.
Mike Kunkel
She attended what I can aptly describe as a law school for morons. It’s so bad that the school refuses to release data on its students, as if the rest of us don’t know what it would look like. It’s termed a 4th tier school, as bad as it gets. Good thing Daddy had a firm. Using coloring books is no way to learn law.
That probably explains some of her behavior. My guess is Daddy wanted to share fees with her so he pushed her to get some kind of paper to hang on the wall.
She really created a mess recently by sticking her nose into matters best left to Beirut Veterans. In the process of doing that she has made inappropriate comments about one of the Beirut Communities finest contributors.
There are many hundreds of millions of dollars that are not being handled properly in my opinion. Too much going to lawyers and accountants and none at all to some of those who suffered the most.
Sounds like someone else we (used to) know.
can we get some details on what the whole situation is with Caragh Fay? again, i am a little bit lost after seeing the post the other day. but no one said a Marine was bright (hell i even joined the Army after getting out of the Corps!)
Not really your fault, I have been vague on some details on purpose. The whole Beirut debacle continues to be a mess. Caragh Fay is the daughter of the man who filed the case against Iran on behalf of some Beirut veterans a long time ago. The victims of the bombing in Beirut did not know they were considered victims of Iranian sponsored terrorism. They were not declared victims of Iran until a decade after the bombing. They had no idea they qualified for compensation of any kind, neither did their next of kin. Daddy had his daughter get a law degree, I suspect he did that so he could fee share with her directly. As the case moved through the courts it went all the way to the Supreme Court that ruled in favor of the Beirut Bombing Victims against Iran. The U.S. had seized $Billions in Iranian assets for sponsoring terrorism. That money was to be paid out to victims. President Obama sent a plane with exactly the same amount of cash on it that we had seized from Iran back to them. Essentially, President Obama paid them tax dollars for what we had taken from them. In doing so in a covert manner, the U.S. is still holding billions of Iranian assets in a trust. Iran ended up paying NOTHING for their terrorist acts and the American Taxpayers did. Many Beirut victims were not and are still not part of any case to be compensated. The lawyers are getting paid, the accountants are being paid, and some victims are being paid. The next round of payments is due very soon. Last year Vice-President Pence invited some Beirut Veterans to the Capitol. The invitations were taken care of by a person who is considered by most the authority on historical information concerning Beirut. This year President Trump has extended an invitation to host a group of Beirut Veterans. Caragh Fay jumped into the process by sending out an email to all of her clients extending the invitation to them. She had no authority to do so, the White… Read more »
Thanks for the recap, Dave.
I get so mad when I think about the billions in cash we gave Iran to get that nuclear “deal”. I can only imagine for the true victims of Iran’s actions that it’s doubly or triply infuriating.
I need to go do some deep breathing to lower the blood pressure…
Dang, I had no clue this is what that was.
We’ll, no, no please I insist: fuck her right back.
I’m no one, but I earned that EGA a long time ago and if I can sweep the floor or something here, please let me know.
ok i am up to speed now. how are we set for lawyers on our side? its always fun to keelhaul these lampreys, i mean lawyers…
You’re a good man, Dave.
It’s why Jonn cottoned to him. Good people tend to recognize their own kind.
Dave just hides it really well sometimes.
I had no idea- thanks for explaining. Absolutely infuriating and completely unsat. If you need funding, I’ll ante up and rattle the cup here, too.
People like this hate the light of day. Perhaps some friendly media attention would hasten the foot-draggers?
Man this is getting suckier and suckier. Had no clue. Do remember reading/hearing about an on going suit and it going to SCOTUS and had ass out of me, that it was legit and the victims/their survivors were going to be taken care of. Big surprise that oblowme sending the cash back in the dead of night, yet didn’t ensure American Warriors were taken care of. Thirty five f ing years, and this no count bitch sucking up at the trough. Just….damn! Sent the link to SnL, we’ll see what he says, might be a day or so. We do need to make this a TAH get handled project. This shit just really pisses me off. Does Mad Dog Mattis know about this?
I’m not an attorney but I’ve seen a lot of movies and TV that had to do with legal drama…
Sounds to me as if they signed up a respectable amount of clients according to the pick-the-low-hanging-fruit theory of due diligence. Damn the rest.
They then moved forward with the case. Hey, 33% of whatever money they get is the same whether they have 500 clients or whether they have 800 clients. 800 clients may be more work, however. Kind of how electricity finds the quickest path with the least resistance.
Why didn’t any Marines stand up and insist that the case not move forward until all of their brothers and brothers relatives were found and given an opportunity to participate in a lawsuit? Maybe they figured it wasn’t their place or the lawyers talked them out of an inconvenient military ethos? Who knows for sure?
The only thing that looks certain is some folks got left behind. How could they have missed someone like Terry Hudson?
Then, I was under the impression that this lawsuit was designed to be a deterrent for Iran to participate in future terrorist acts. If the American taxpayer ended up footing the bill in the end, how does that deter terrorism?
This whole thing sounds corrupt to me. Isn’t there some kind of oversight that the DoJ can apply here?
Dave, if this is taxpayer money then it is YOUR money and you have every right to ask about it and not be told “Fuck You.”
Sounds to me like a bunch of folks, mostly lawyers, are getting rich because a lot of people are not paying attention.
We should get “60 Minutes” in on this, crawl up somebody’s butt and let the public form an opinion about what is going on. Sunshine is the best disinfectant.
Anyone know how to pitch a story to ’60 Minutes?’
ABC’s 20/20 also does investigating stories such as this.
Perhaps another possibilty is Fox News. Or call Rush Limbaugh on his Open Mike Friday.
Or the Washington Times, the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal.
Wish the timing could be now since it will be 35 years this coming Tuesday of that tragic, terrible act of terrorism.
Or posting a Webpage on this atrocity?
Stossel, on Fox, would be a good candidate.

Thank you. Good idea. I cannot call anybody because I have a heavy accent, but I can certainly email a lot of people, and perhaps even link this page and include this discussion.
Being more of an “all of the above” kinda critter, may I suggest contacting every news outlet we can think of. Mentioning the anniversary date would likely help peak their interest.
One of my senators is in a close race, so also plan to contact his office with a few suggestions, and also mention the anniversary coming up very soon.
If others would contact their Congress critters, we could make quite a lot of noise.
I might even contact a local attorney who might be interested. And our attorney general and secretary of state, just in case they could do something about injured Marines from this state who are being ignored.
But first, we need to hear from Dave what activities would be most useful. Plus, our resident legal beagles might advise us if contacting individual state officials to generate interest on behalf of state veterans/surviving families might be worth pursuing.
Yes. I should think we could collectively do some good on behalf of these Marines, others who were killed/injured, and the survivors.
Dave, this may be a “Captain Obvious” question, but what did the judge of the case say when informed of all the folks “overlooked” by the lawyers?
Unless a formal complaint is brought before him there is nothing he can or will do. I have requested copies of the depositions these people have made andso far have been denied them.
I can not file a formal complaint unless I know what they said in their deposition. So far it is a circular trap.
Insofar as the “overlooked” one go, I had several other lawyers get involved. They agreed to pay for a small portion of the expences for me to track all of these people down and compensate me for my time out of their fees. They took the clients that I sent them but never finished paying the small portion of the expenses they promised. They owe me $8,000 last time I checked. Chris Gabel is his name out of Texas. We get empty promises and no action. Gabel and Fay met in DC over a year ago and after that things got very quiet. Gabel promised to send money but it never showed up. Who knows with these clowns…I dare any of them to dispute a word I say in court. Discovery will be a bitch for them.
This Gabel?

Breach of contract? Take action against his license?
If you have the time and are interested in the financial aspects of the Beirut attack, you will be sickened as you read about it. From President Red Line’s opposition to paying the families of the casualties from Iranian assets frozen in the US, to his later pallets-of-cash payments to that regime, and on to a Supreme Court decision, the whole read is just plain sickening and twisted.
This whole site is a complete lie- There is not a single true statement from Mr. Harding on here.
It’s Mr. Hardin to you princess. I have repeatedly told you to stop harassing me. Your threats of intimidation are unethical and certainly unprofessional.
I will defend every word I said.
Perhaps she needs to read VoV’s inaugural post, and look up what SCOTUS had to say about the truth being an affirmative defense against a falsehood.
On the other hand, perhaps the less said about all that the better. After all, a lawer, any lawer, in jail for violating various criminal laws does sound rather appealing.
Saying “This whole site is a complete lie-” is rather bombastic, and certainly is not true. Can we therefore only conclude that Caragh Fay is a liar? It’s somewhere between extremely difficult and impossible to draw any other conclusion.
Gee whiz, Caragh, isn’t that just like the Big Fat Pot calling The Kettle “black”????
Perhaps if you did the job you pretend to do, you would get some respect… but that would take precious time out of your life, wouldn’t it?
How sad.
