Tuesday morning feel good stories
From Santa Ana, California;
“We got a call of a guy in the parking structure breaking into cars,” [Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna] said. “The calling party stated the suspicious person was checking car doors and was holding a large piece of metal and a wire. During the contact with the suspicious person, an officer-involved shooting occurred. Santa Ana police officers started first aid and were relieved by Orange County Fire Authority paramedics (who) treated the suspect and transported him to Orange County Global Medical Center.”
The man died at 12:25 a.m. this morning. Authorities withheld his name, pending family notification,
From Montgomery, Alabama;
MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 5200 block of Vaughn Road on Sunday, July 1, at about 3:15 p.m. in reference to two subjects shot.
Upon arrival, MPD located two adult males who had sustained gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment; one non-life threatening and one critical but stable.
MPD’s investigation indicates that the shooting was the result of a robbery of a person during which there was an exchange of gunfire. The circumstances remain under investigation.
No word on if one of the victims was the suspected robber.
From Kingman, Arizona;
KPD arrived to the store around 9:50 p.m. at 3665 E. Andy Devine Ave. and exchanged multiple rounds of gun fire with suspects.
One suspect was taken into custody and transported to KRMC with a gunshot wound to his face. No police officers were injured.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is handling the officer involved shooting portion of the investigation, and KPD detectives are handling the armed robbery investigation.
KPD is still looking for the second suspect and more details will be released later today.
