Teacher Allegedly Called Kyle Kashuv ‘Next Hitler’
Daily Wire reports that a situation regarding Greg Pittman, the history teacher at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School who allegedly called student Kyle Kashuv “the next Hitler” in class, became more serious as the school district confirmed that the incident is now under investigation.
In a statement to The Daily Wire, Broward County Public Schools official Nadine Drew wrote:
School leaders take all matters involving students and staff seriously. They are aware of the allegations and are looking into the matter.
The alleged incident occurred on Wednesday, when two students claimed that the American History teacher told students that Kashuv was “the next Hitler,” and stated Kashuv was “dangerous” and “something needed to be done about him.”
Pittman, who also has attacked Kashuv multiple times on Twitter, initiated the situation when he attacked Kashuv for posing in a picture with a gun he had shot at a range with his father. Pittman allegedly accused Kashuv of being the only student in the school not “smart enough” to know not to post pictures like that, and accused him of taking the photos because he wanted to pick up Twitter followers.
Kashuv rejected Pittman’s accusations, informing The Daily Wire that it was his first time ever shooting a gun and that he was invited to go, indicating that it was not something that he sought out.
The Daily Wire reached out to school officials at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, whose only response to the allegations against Pittman was “no comment.”
Things are seriously wrong at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and somehow I don’t think an in-house teacher’s investigation is the answer. And for the record, the Broward County police union voted “no confidence” on Sheriff Israel yesterday.

Yes, we have free speech rights in this country. However, just because we can say things doesn’t mean that we should spew whatever comes to mind with no thought to what the words mean and the context within which we use those words.
Teachers are supposed to be and act like adults. It would seem that there are many students in that school displayng more maturity than teachers and staff such as this.
I didn’t think teachers were supposed to “bully students” on social media.
My nephew is a middle school teacher, and he told me that teachers in his district are not permitted to either “friend or follow” any students from their school on social media…much less antagonize them.
That seems to be the policy in many districts.

I have heard some scuttlebutt that David Hogg might actually be older than he lets on.
WOW and I thought that I was the only Jew in Liberal South florida that owns Firearms and hits the range twice a week until two Fridays ago when I was at the range, two Orthodox guys with their daughter walk in with an AR Variant and handguns. Finally waking up and not seeing their world through rose colored glasses. Got to give them credit. Speaking of range, I’ve mentioned my 37 years of bad gun habits while I worked for Brink’s and today the Range safety officer had the time to check out my bad habits and I found out that I have a habit of slapping the trigger back making the shots always break at the 7 o’clock position, so he told me that when I fired to let up on the trigger until I heard it click and then to slowly pull back the trigger hence I avoid the long pull. The guy is like 45 years my junior and really knows his shit so now I have to muscle memory this into my trigger pull. I found out that my non shooting hand was not where it should be when I fire. Looks like the range is going to get a box of Dunkin Donuts or my home made brownies this coming up Monday.
A few years back, a buddy was looking through the CFC catalog looking for a worthy cause. 1SG says “Having any luck?” SGT F says “I’m looking for the Conservative Jewish Republican Gun Owners’s Association but I can’t seem to find it”. 1SG looked like he didn’t quite know how to react.
Just had the flashback to 1st sgt’s office of being forced to look at that catalog until 2355 hours or until donation is made.

You didn’t say whether you were right or left handed. For right handed folks who push the group to 7 oclock this is an indicator of anticipating recoil. There was a commercial paper target available once that had the sectors marked with typical problems if your groupings fell in the sector.
One of the things I’d do when working with folks that had that problem was to include a dummy round in the mix. That way they could see the effect of the flinch/recoil anticipation when the weapon went click and no bang and you could see the muzzle push over
AW1Ed; I have one of those charts in the house somewhere and we had one at the Freeport LI NY police range where I was a civilian range member. Also had one on the wall at our indoor range at Brink’s. Looks like I have to go back to basics again and work on my trigger pull and grip to get my muscle memory going. Long ago in a galaxy far far way I attended the basic pistol course at Gunsite. We were working the square range one morning before lunch and I had that experience. I was using a Taurus PT 101 (40 S&W) It seems somehow I had broke on of the screw holding the adjustable sight to the frame and it was just moving around. The Smithy fixed it at lunch.
Not saying that was the only time I had a target like that, but its the only one I’ll admit to in public.
USAFRetired; I’m right handed and notice the jerk to the left when I do malfunction tap rack bang drills using those orange plastic rounds in my XDSC .40cal. Bought the new Springfield XDE .09MM and like I mentioned, above The safety officer noticed me “slapping’ the trigger which made the round break to the lower left. Now I have to work on a steady slow pull and then release the trigger until I hear the click and then pull back the trigger which will give me a shorter distance until the shot is fired. Never had a problem with the Brink’s shooting team using my S&W Mod.14 6 inch barrel .38cal wheel gun with a bowmar rib/sights custom job when we attended Police L X shooting, slow, mediam and timed fire. This was back in the 70’S.

This person has no business being a teacher at any level in any schoolroom. I cannot recall any teacher or staff in high school saying such things or acting like schoolyard bullies – ever.
