The off-duty police officer that shot a man in Miamisburg after an armed robbery will not be charged.
The Montgomery County Grand Jury heard testimony and evidence concerning the shooting that took place on Monday, February 5, 2018, in Miamisburg. The officer witnessed 17?year?old Charles Ashford attempting to carjack multiple victims at gunpoint in an attempt to steal a getaway vehicle after committing an armed robbery of a Shell gas station on Byers Road.
According to officials, the officer identified himself as a police officer and ordered the juvenile to drop his weapon. When the juvenile failed to comply and instead pointed a .45 caliber semi?automatic firearm at the officer the officer fired his weapon, striking the juvenile twice.
Upon consideration of all the testimony and evidence, the Grand Jury returned a no true bill, finding that the officer acted lawfully, the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday.
The juvenile suspect is charged with seven counts of aggravated robbery, one count of felonious assault on a police officer, discharge of a firearm on or over a public roadway, and impersonating a peace officer.
From Prince William County, Virginia;
A man shot by a member of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Friday morning has died. Mario Dantoni Bass, 37, was a sought for 11 active warrants by the Prince William County police.
Bass’ most recent warrant was connected to a domestic-related abduction on Feb. 15. He also had warrants for felony grand larceny auto, identity theft and various traffic violations, some of which date back to Sept. 2015.
In an attempt to apprehend Bass, the Task Force arrived at a Days Inn in Dumfries where Bass was reportedly staying.
When the task force reached the room Bass was staying in, Bass allegedly broke through an upper floor window and fled to the rear of the hotel, where he encountered a task force member.
During a physical altercation with the task force member, Bass was shot in the upper body. No other injuries were reported.
Video from a failed robbery attempt in Tucson, Oklahoma last week;
Tulsa police responded to the store near 12th and Memorial just after 6 p.m. Thursday after the clerk called 911, saying they shot the suspect multiple times. The suspect was gone by the time officers arrived, but he later showed up at a local hospital.
Police have identified the suspect as Tyrone Lee and believe he’s connected to 10 other robberies in the area. They say Lee walked into the liquor store Thursday evening with a shotgun, demanding money.
Surveillance video shows the suspect behind the counter before walking out of the camera’s view. The owner and her daughter both grab their guns, and when the suspect returns, the owner opens fire.

That video is why you do a mag or in this case a cylinder dump if you have to shoot someone. i wonder what kind of ammo they were using. i’m betting on ball since a 38 +p at that range should have opened him up like a can of spaghetti. being armed and trained no doubt saved these women from this guy!
My guess is they were shooting .22’s! how many times did they shoot the a.h. and he kept coming…they shoot once and back off, to hell with that , put enough lead in he a.h., he can’t raise himself off the floor imo!
You gotta give them both credit though. I didn’t see any real panic in either one; even when the older lady took the beating (she should put one to his face when they were just inside the front door). The younger gal got at least 2 in CoM.
But, I do agree with the heaviest, hollow point round they could get for their weapon. Shoot till it goes “click” or lock back – them jam in some more & giv’m some more.

i think there were a total of 6 shots that hit him, the mothers gun was dry because after he grabs it from her he tries to shoot the daughter over the counter and it just goes click.
the daughter looks like she has an LCP 9 but again if its not the +p stuff just ball ammo she is shooting it would have just been an in and out. there is a decent blood train on the floor and that last shot the daughter took looks like it was right in the kidney area. he will be unlucky to be lucky to survive. now if your a betting man, how much you want to bet he was a convicted felon prior to this?

I’ve got a .357 sig, hollow points. The only thing I ever shot with it was a crazed pit bull. Fired 6 rapid rounds. He went down with number 2; other 4 were to make sure.
Many women cannot handle .45 ACP – and it is not the end-all be-all.
I suspect they were using .380 – which is all my eldest daughter-in-law can handle.
We don’t know, but it could be they were using a 9mm with JHP and the points clogged with material, preventing expansion. It could be any number of other things.
I’m just glad they are ok. Hope they get some better defensive rounds, maybe pistols with greater capacity, and whatever else they need to do to stay alive.
.45 ACP R.I.P. (Radically Invasive Projectile) will definitely get the job done! Think the last time I purchased a box it was around $50 for 20 rounds.
I started with the Rohrbaugh .009 then carried the Kimber Ultra .045 then went to the Springfield XDSC .40 and now I’m happy with Springfield’s new XDE in .009. The Rohrbaugh only held 6 rds in the mag, the smaller Kimber in .45 only held like If I remember 6 rds in the mag and the double stack XDSC .40 was a little wide for my hand but my new XDE .009 single stack is perfect for me except that I still have to work on my trigger pull. racking the slide is very easy and faster than a mail bag at a train whistle stop. Love it.

Actually, Tina managed to hit the suspect with her revolver only once. In the left thigh as he was climbing in through the shattered glass of what was left of the front door.
He was shot twice more by Ashley. Once in the back and once more in the left shoulder. Sgt. Fon is correct that the suspect couldn’t kill Ashley with the revolver because it was empty by the time he wrestled it from Tina. Note how even Tina didn’t know that, considering how much of a fight she put up to try and keep control of the weapon. Counting rounds is only something most of us can do at the range.
Would you willingly give up your weapon even if it was empty? I sure wouldn’t.
