Thursday morning feel good stories
From Pickens County, South Carolina, good news for a man there;
Hashe detailed the Sept. 12 death of Henry Hugh Thomas, 39, in a news release Tuesday afternoon.
He said detectives have interviewed everyone who was in the home on Walker Street in Easley at the time of the shooting. Investigators said Thomas went into the home at about 8 p.m. through a door that was closed by not locked. They said Thomas was a stranger to the homeowner and four other adults who were in the home.
The people in the home said when they questioned Thomas, he pulled out a .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun that he pointed at them at fired two shots. Two of the man scuffled with Thomas, and another guest, James Christopher Murphy, retrieved a .9 mm. handgun that belonged to the homeowner that he fired twice, hitting Thomas in the upper and lower torso.
Witnesses said that when he was shot, Thomas was still holding the weapon that he had brought to the scene and was still actively fighting the men who were trying to disarm him.
Hashe said that Thomas dropped his weapon after he was wounded and was held on the floor until authorities arrived. He later died from his injuries during surgery at a local hospital.

Police also say the suspect was later dropped off at Memorial Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound. Officers add that the suspect is currently in stable condition.
From Sacramento, California;
Sacramento police say they found two 15-year-old boys who had been shot. Both teens were taken to the hospital, but one was later pronounced dead.
Wednesday, based on their preliminary information, detectives say the teens look to have been in the area in order to commit a home invasion robbery. Detectives have not said how they have come to that conclusion.
Detectives say they have identified the people involved in the incident believe case to be isolated. The incident is not believed to be gang-related.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has identified the boy killed as Tamir Williams.
From Killeen, Texas;
Instead, police say, a would-be robber attempted to break into a residence, but the homeowner tried to fight him off outside the home.
During the fight, the robber fired a single shot that struck the tire of a nearby vehicle.
Then a woman who also lived in the home turned her pit bull loose on the man.
The dog attacked the would-be robber, who fled with some witnesses in pursuit.

A convenience store clerk in Cincinnati, Ohio is breathing easier tonight;
Hananiah Israel, 34, entered Sam’s Quick Market on Harrison Avenue in South Fairmount at about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 20. He pointed a pistol at the clerks and demanded money, according to Deters.

A high caliber, high capacity scary assault dog – yep.
Don’t mess w/ clerks folks.
Diplomacy, the art of saying Nice Doggy, until you have time to pick up a rock! Good Dog!! Glad the others are taking a dirt nap! I love a happy ending first thing in the morning!
Now I can start my day. A lot of turning lives around as of late, keep up the great work heathens!
Tamir…
Dawane…
Sigh…
Wasn’t there already a “Tamir” shot recently?
Nope that was Tamara, Tamaria, Tamal, Tamul and Tamishia.
Good start to a good day. And give that dog a nice, juicy bone, too.
The dog got the bone.
The dog should get a life long supply of Snausages … those treats are tasty.
Great with beer.
I’m glad to see that the Hamilton Co prosecutor Deters is more interested in justice instead of grandstanding for headlines.
Oh, he’s grandstands with the best of them, but generally on the right side of citizen self-defense. I did love his quote, “If you enter a store with a weapon to rob it, you have forfeited your right not to be shot.”
Do we ever have a right not to be shot?
Or does someone else have a right to self defense? I think this guy should go back to school. Unless he is intentionally being funny.
I’ll see your .22 and raise you 9… sounds like a card game. Worth noting – do NOT trust hollowpoints to expand, especially with heavy clothing in the way. Cloth tends to form a ‘plug’ in the bullet cavity and it behaves like a solid after that. Shot placement, shot placement, shot placement – the three rules of saving your life.
David, have you used any of the HPs with the plastic tip HPs. The plastic tips keep the hollow points expanding even thru heavy coats and such. Joe
I gotta get me one of them .9 mm guns.
I’d say that the kill in the first story was a bit of amazing luck. It’s tough to kill a fellow with one .9 MM shot. Next time he should use a 9 MM if he wants a fighting chance.
Yep, a .9MM is quite small.
