Thursday morning feel good stories
From Las Vegas, Nevada;
The moments before the break-in were caught on camera. Kris owns a Ring doorbell, which sends a live feed direct to his cell phone.
The doorbell has a tiny camera inside, so you get a really good look at the would-be burglars.
“They’re coming in. There’s no question. They’re coming in,” said Kris.
The video shows the unwelcome guests ring the doorbell to see if anyone is home.
“The voice, what he says in there, their demeanor, they’re not here to sell cookies,” explained Kris.
Kris was inside his home, watching the crooks from his cell phone. Video from the Ring doorbell shows the intruders talking to each other. They appear to be confused by the doorbell.
In the video, one can be heard saying, “You need an eye scanner? Is that how I get into the house? An eye scanner?”
Seconds later, the crooks are in Kris’ backyard. Except now, there are four people. Kris pulled out his gun.
“They had flashlights and I’m basically just seeing silhouettes of their bodies moving around the backyard,” said Kris. “And as soon as one comes two feet into my home, I fire two rounds.”
Kris said he ran outside and fired two more rounds. The intruders took off and Kris called 911.
From Tulsa, Oklahoma;
A man who was shot while allegedly burglarizing a residence in Collinsville area has been jailed.
Tulsa County deputies booked Kou Yang, 33, into Tulsa Jail early Tuesday afternoon.
Yang was shot at least twice about 4 a.m. Sept. 1 while allegedly burglarizing a neighbor’s residence, located in the 7800 block of East 131st Street North near Collinsville.
Yang was booked into the jail on complaints of first-degree burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, trespassing and assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.
From Boswell, Indiana;
Warren County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 1900 block of West 1050 North near Boswell, Indiana, around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a home invasion.
They arrived to find the home’s owner, William Kellerhals, suffering from minor bumps and bruises from an apparent baseball bat attack.
Kellerhals told police two suspects kicked in his door and entered his home without permission.
One of the men allegedly struck Kellerhals with a bat before the homeowner was able to retrieve a gun and fire shots at the fleeing suspects.
Police said nothing was taken from the home and Kellerhals received only minor injuries.
From Newport, Kentucky;
Officers were called to E-Z Cash Pawn in the 600 block of Monmouth Street in Newport on Wednesday afternoon.
Two suspects tried to rob the business, when the owner shot one of the suspects in the arm, according to Newport Police Chief Tom Collins.
The owner described the suspects’ getaway car to police, and officers began following the vehicle.
The pair crashed the getaway car in an alley off of 8th Street and took off running.
One suspect was taken into custody at that time, police said. He was wearing a wig.
The other suspect, who had been shot, tried to get into a house on Maple Avenue. Police said he threw money and a gun on the roof of the residence.
Investigators tracked the suspect by a trail of blood, found him and took him into custody without incident.
From Cleveland, Ohio;
Arthur Giles, one of the owners of the Taco Bell on West 117th Street in the city’s Edgewater neighborhood, said police have not told the owners exactly who shot the robber.
“Everyone at the store is okay, from my understanding,” Giles said. “All the employees and all the customers are safe.”
Officials have not yet identified the robber who died. Cleveland police have not released additional details about the shooting.
Police dispatch records say two armed robbers with bandanas around their faces walked into the restaurant about 2:45 a.m. They tried to rob the store, but one of the robbers was shot in the ribs, according to police dispatch records.
Employees told dispatchers someone fired shots, and that one of the robbers ended up on the ground.
Added; In an update to the Taco Bell story, apparently three of the employees shot at the crooks.

Jonn wakes up early…
I got a question.
I have noticed, in several science and technology websites that I follow, that the writers are using the female gender for every example they need in their articles.
Initially, within last year, I started noticing they were alternating between male and female, but now, some male writers are using exclusively female terms.
Example:
“bacteria that frequently encounter antibiotics may evolve drug resistance over many generations, but an individual bacterium won’t change its behavior at all; in contrast, a girl learning that she has a peanut allergy will immediately change her behavior to start avoiding peanuts.”
Have yo guys noticed this new trend?

Excellent blog.
But they can’t help the leftish bend.
Yes, but this, too, shall pass as soon as someone says it’s discriminatory.
Hey, at least they’re using a female pronoun to refer to a female girl.
2:45 am. What are the chances that the dead robber was shot by his nervous accomplice? just a thought
Or a rival hood rat.
1 – “You need an eye scanner? Is that how I get into the house? An eye scanner?”
Yes, you but also need a brain scan to see if you actually have one.
3 – Kellerhals told police two suspects kicked in his door and entered his home without permission.
Any real burglar knows that it’s simply good manners to knock and then wait for “Come in”.
4 – One suspect was taken into custody at that time, police said. He was wearing a wig.
That’s not a disguise. It’s ridiculous.
5-Police dispatch records say two armed robbers with bandanas around their faces walked into the restaurant about 2:45 a.m.
Okay, this isn’t the Old West. You wear a bandana at a bank robbery, not a Taco Bell robbery. These people simply do not know how to dress for success, do they?
Five for five, though, so it’s a good start to a good day.
With the Cleveland shooting, SOMEONE is starting to learn to implement The Four Esses, in this case, the fourth one, “Shut Up.”
“WHo shot the bad guy?”
(chirp….chirp….)
In an update to the Taco Bell story, apparently three of the employees shot at the crooks.
Three employees? that’s awesome! Peace through superior fire… now if they work on how to move, shoot and communicate, their score might go up if there’s a next time!
Article says two of the employees were 19. How did two 19 year olds get pistols?
I really hope that in Ohio it’s not against the law to arm someone under 21 with a pistol on private property.
Federal law is 18 for possession of a handgun or ammo, no lower limit on long guns. (A grey area is nominally pistol ammo possessed for a long gun like a lever action chambered in .357 or .44…some jurisdictions call it handgun ammo, some go with what weapon the person has.) Purchase from a licensed dealer of a handgun is 21, 18 for a long gun.
Cleveland Rocks!
Kou Yang is not the sort of name we see frequently in this section of the website.
I guess we should name him No Yu Kant now…
