From Las Vegas, Nevada;
Metro Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in northeast Las Vegas Thursday night.
The shooting occurred shortly before 9 p.m. at The Rubix apartment complex on the 5300 block of East Craig Road, near Nellis Air Force Base.
Police say a homeowner reported shooting a man who was allegedly trying to break into his home in the area of Craig Road and Aviation Street.
From Orlando, Florida;
According to investigators, the teen entered the store armed with a rock, used it to break open the counter display and tried to steal several cellphones.
The manager, who was not identified, tried to stop the teen and after a struggle inside the store, he followed the suspect outside and shot him, deputies said.
“(The teen was) literally hobbled,” witness Gabrielle Boozier said. “He couldn’t walk.”
The teen was somehow able to flee the scene, deputies said.
As investigators searched for the alleged burglar, they received a call from a woman saying her son had been shot.
The teen was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

A fatal shooting in a small town leaves a community shaken. A man was found shot to death on Main Street in the town of Victoria, which is in Lunenberg County. Right now, Virginia State Police say no charges have been filed.
The store owner of Little B’s convenience store says the man who was killed was trying to rob his store.

In local news, I went to the Citgo station on the highway to get a couple bags of ice, because my freezer can’t keep up with my demands. The clerk told me that they were out of ice, because someone had stolen the entire supply overnight. The surveillance cameras didn’t catch it because they’re all aimed at the gas pumps.
As I was leaving to go to McD’s instead, the ice truck pulled up and two guys got out. They said yes, they were there to resupply the ice locker. I told them that the entire supply was gone. I got ‘uh, WHAT?’ looks from them. They checked the locker, confirmed what I said, gave each other blank looks, and they said they’d get on it.
I gave them my two HD shopping bags to load with bagged ice and went into the store to tell the clerk the icemen had cometh.
She went out to see the icemen and confirmed the theft, noting that the station’s cameras were pointed the wrong way, and could the store get locks for the ice locker when the station is closed?
Now, you have to consider that the heat has been 85++ for a couple of days, but we’ve had rain and cooler weather, so who in the world would steal and entire reefer full of bagged ice?
That had to be a legendary party.
Can remember when someone stole the entire compressor/condenser unit off the local pool hall’s roof, probably for the metal content. Air hasn’t worked quite right in that place ever since… I keep testing it to be sure. In over 10 years they still haven’t gotten it working well. I will continue to follow up.
