Friday morning feel good stories
From Miami, Florida;
The fatal shooting happened just after noon Wednesday in the 7000 block of Northwest Fifth Place.
Christopher Bess, a Miami police spokesman, said the man told police his home was being burglarized so he opened fire.
The possible burglar was fatally wounded, police said.
A woman who identified herself as living with the homeowner told WSVN7 that he was inside the home with his 3-year-old son, who alerted him to the burglar.
From San Antonio, Texas;
31-year-old John Alvear and 23-year-old Cassandra Talamantez visited the home of 26-year-old George De la Rosa on West Olmos Drive.
Talamantez knocked on the doors and windows of De la Rosa’s home causing him to go outside and confront her. Police said De la Rosa had a Mossberg shotgun with him when he confronted Talamantez.
He told her to leave and she walked toward a white Dodge Charger that was parked on the street, according to police. After she got in the car, Alvear, who was driving the Charger, pointed a pistol at De la Rosa and loaded the chamber.
According to police, De la Rosa feared for his life so he fired his shotgun three or four times at the car before it sped away from the scene.
Alvear was hit in the chest and right hand while Talamantez was hit in her right thigh. Alvear drove to the Shell station where he entered the store, bought and drank chocolate milk before returning to the Charger.
Police said Alvear fell to the ground, but as people called for help he got up and drove himself from Vance Jackson to Methodist Texsan Hospital. He entered the hospital leaving Talamantez in the Charger. Hospital staff brought her inside of the hospital and stabilized her. Both suspects were later transported to University Hospital by EMS, according to police.
From Little Rock, Arkansas;
A police report says one teen was found dead in a stairwell at the apartment complex and the second was taken by private vehicle to a hospital where he was taken with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say an 18-year-old man at the apartment complex told officers he exchanged gunfire with two males who tried to rob him. The man was questioned by police and released pending a review of the case by the prosecuting attorney’s office

Thieves will be thieves, thugs will be thugs, punks will be punks; until they get shot and killed or wounded. They just don’t believe that they need to be law abiding, in a law abiding society.
“…..bought and drank chocolate milk….”
I can see it now, just like the cartoons, leaking milk from a dozen holes. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA
Dear John and Cassandra,
You DON’T point a gun at a man who is on high alert and has a shotgun pointed in your direction. Play stoopid games, win stoopid prizes.
(Makes me wonder….was John, Cassandra’s “John”?)
“But Uncle Joe said he was supposed to fire the shotgun into the air, not into me…”
A couple more off to the great ghetto in the sky.
And the ranks thinned accordingly in the Darwin Camp.
