Friday morning feel good stories

From Syracuse, Utah;

Syracuse police Detective Erin Behm said officers responded to a 6 p.m. Wednesday 911 call of gunfire at 1850 S. Bluffridge Drive. The homeowner, rushing home when family members called him to report someone trying to break in, confronted the suspect.

During a subsequent struggle, the man’s son, also 17, produced a handgun and shot the suspect, accidentally also wounding the woman.

Behm said Thursday that the suspect was not believed to have been armed, but apparently was physically imposing enough that the family felt threatened as he allegedly tried to break in.

The alleged intruder and the woman both were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries….

From Las Vegas, Nevada;

Metro Police said a man who lives at the apartment complex told officers he shot a man after he tried to break into his apartment. They found damage on the door along with a footprint.

Detectives said they found a man dead at the scene and the incident is under investigation.

From Huntsville, Texas;

According to police, the homeowner pulled into his driveway before 11 p.m. Wednesday in the Elkins Lake subdivision. Officers say the homeowner noticed the back door had been kicked in.

Officers said that’s when the homeowner went back to his car and got his handgun. He returned to his house and was confronted by two men. Investigators say the homeowner fired his gun, striking both of them. One of the men died at the house, the other managed to leave. Investigators said he showed up at Herman Memorial Hospital in The Woodlands with two gunshot wounds.

Right now, police do not know how the second man made it all the way to The Woodlands. He is in critical condition. Officers believe they will charge him with the burglary after he is stabilized.

In Lake Charles, Louisiana, Walter Williams, 21 and Dontae Scott, 21 invaded a home and demanded booty from the occupants. When they fled the scene, Williams’ weapon negligently discharged into Scott’s abdomen;

Williams was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Scott is in stable condition at a local hospital; his arrest is pending.

Nice to see the self solving problem in Lake Charles. I wish that more criminals would be that cooperative.

“Officers said that’s when the homeowner went back to his car and got his handgun.”
