Pizza joint robbery foiled

| March 30, 2017

Chooee sends us a link to a weird article about a pizza joint stick up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where the thief pulled a weapon magazine (sans weapon) on an employee and demanded all of the money.

The victim then slapped the magazine out of the suspect’s hands.

The suspect grabbed two rounds that fell out of the magazine, turned around, and walked out the door, the report states.

The article doesn’t say what type of magazine was used in the robbery, but they have a picture of an AR magazine – the most dangerous of all “high capacity” magazines, I hear from the gun-grabbers. The employee was lucky that the magazine didn’t jump up off the floor and injure or kill him.

This is the first I have heard of bring a clip to a gun fight?

Yef

A clip?

Ahh, you are bait trolling.
You know that a clip is not a magazine but wanted someone to bite your bait.
Got it.
I almost took a bite.

David

Get over it, Yef… you might be interested to know that even the US Army referred to the magazine of a M1911 as a ‘magazine’ or ‘clip’ interchangeably. Technically, yes, it is a box magazine…now give me a technical definition of which the M1 uses.

Yef

M1 uses an 8 round en-bloc clip.
And I have never ever evah heard anyone in the Army using clip and magazine interchangeably. Clips feed magazines. They are the stripper clips with 10 rounds each that come in the bandoleers inside the ammo cans of A059 5.56×45 for the M4s.

Clipping. 15 yards.

Stashiu3

In the Army Nurse Corps, I heard it referred to as “bullet-holder-thingee” more than once.

SFC D

And remember kids, the pointed end of the bullet goes in first..

Stashiu3

I was prior-enlisted, so fairly proficient. The nurses at OBC, aka “Barbie goes to camp”, not so much. Good nurses though.

David

Glad you had that little factoid handy. (And stripper clips predate M4s by like a hundred years; take a look at the receivers on 1890s Mausers.)

From an American Rifleman article March ’14 “Before purists chime in, let me add that back in 1909 and 1910–as the United States was looking at adopting its first self-loading pistol for widespread issue–in U.S. Army Ordnance Dept. documents it referred to the detachable box magazine for what would become the U.S. M1911 pistol as, well, a clip.”

Graybeard

Stupid is as stupid does.

And that is awe-inspiringly stupid.

Ex-PH2

The employee did a fine job. Personally, I’d have asked him if he wanted the free drink, and then thrown it in his face, then stomped on him, but that’s just me. Fine job of reacting properly.

OC

I got nuttin’….

Yes I do – why wasn’t said magazine shoved up said perp’s ass?

FuzeVT (AKA Todd)

Perhaps this guy believed the hype that these “high capacity magazines” were super-duper deadly.

“ASSAULT CLIPS”
A new lefty classification of magazines, maybe?

Just don’t tell Maura “Hold It” Healey! (gun-grabbing Mass. AG)

Silentium Est Aureum

Any relationship to the Iraqi woman who held up a couple of rounds (casings and all) that she claimed US troops shot through her house?

Graybeard

The perp is her and her brother’s son.

David

Ohmigawd….. that is hysterical.

Eden

If that wasn’t a joke, then I weep for humanity.

Graybeard

I work on the premise that someone was satirizing those who know little about guns with this post.

But then, there was the school that suspended a 5-year-old for having a “shotgun bullet” (an expended .22 LR casing). It is hard to satirize that level of idiocy.

Eden

Sadly, I found the rest of the (now-deleted) exchange (someone screen-shot it when it happened in October 2015). She really was that dumb, and was elated that her post got shared, thinking she was doing her part to stop gun violence. Then she finally listened to those who were laughing at her and tried to pretend it was a joke. She was really torqued.

SFC D

She definitely screwed the pooch with that post.

Graybeard

oh, my

If, Heaven forbid, this country ever does have a circumstance where people have to take care of themselves, there will be a lot of folks dying from ignorance.
NOLS sent me something the other day where they claimed 3/4 of the Millennials in their case study could not start a fire.
Someone who cannot distinguish drill bits from bullets will die, and never know why.

AW1Ed

Darwin grins.

Ex-PH2

Could not start a fire? Not even with matches? Or one of those long-barrel candle lighters?

Seriously?

Graybeard

Seriously.

I’ve seen folks “camping” in state parks who bring in some unsplit wood, and try to start a fire with a 5-gallon can of gasoline.

With enough gasoline, it works – if the idiots don’t end up immolating themselves or their children.

A Proud Infidel®™

Let’s not forget the news bit about some snowflake mistaking foam ear plugs for rubber bullets!

Graybeard

I remember that one as well.

desert

Too bad the clerk didn’t pull out a 1911 and say “thats not a gun, THIS IS A GUN”! shades of “Crocodile Dundee” lol

RGR 4-78

That just bits the big one.

Itty bitty brain syndrone.

Bits of dementia.

A bit of insanity there.

Old 1SG, US Army (retired)

WTF… if that’s “for real” we’ve have some real dipsh*ts out there…

Good thing she didn’t find a cordless impact driver aka screw gun…

“They called it a gun it must be dangerous!”

Graybeard

Saw a meme the other day on FB, Old 1SG, with a ratchet on the left, and a air-powered ratchet gun on the right.

They called the one on the right a “scary assault ratchet gun” – poking fun at the ignorant amongst us.

Heart of TEXAS (PSG, Ret.)

Dumb Dumb bullets?

The Other Whitey

That’s a special kind of stupid.

Perry Gaskill

There are some dangerous people walking around. The two-bullet bandit should be locked up; he’s obviously the kind of guy who would put pineapple and anchovies on a calzone…

SFC D

That’s an abomination in the eyes of the Lord.

Carlton G. Long

If it were truly an abomination in the eyes of the Lord, then liberals would be staging an all-out assault to having it “normalized.”

Eden

Touche’!

A Proud Infidel®™

Anyone wanting to do that ought to be given a life sentence of anchovy and jalapeño pizza.

Bobo

In DC the possession of the magazine would be a felony.

Eggs

Unless you’re David Gregory.

George V

If the employee was a conservative type, the perp might have tried holding up a magazine such as Time or Newsweek. The shock and horror caused to clerk might have given the perp time to grab some money.
But a magazine from a weepon causes no such shock.

Dustoff

“Murder Beach”, home of the dumbest criminals on the east coast.

2/17 Air Cav

Hey, he probably read that 30-round magazines were outlawed in a number of states and figured that they must be dangerous. After all, what numb skulls would make it illegal to ban a mag?

OWB

Does anyone know when it became so offensive to refer to a magazine as a clip? Yes, I understand the nuance, but fail to understand the big deal about it all.

For what it’s worth, I do know some elder veterans who always call a magazine a clip. They look at me funny when I call it a magazine. It’s all very confusing.

Maybe it’s a generational thing?

OWB

And yeah – that’s a whole lotta stupid right there. He went into a pizza place to deliver a magazine and bullets? Guess he took the two with him as a tip.

2/17 Air Cav

It’s as big a deal as calling a Marine a soldier or a CMOH recipient a winner of the MOH, I guess. In the case of the mag/clip, the failure to maintain the distinction between the two usually signals an outsider is misusing terms which enjoy a specific meaning to most AD and Vets.

NormanS

My favorite is the “30-magazine clip” which can dispense 30 bullets in half a second …

A Proud Infidel®™

I am still marveled at the depths of human stupidity every time I watch that video clip!

Graybeard

I think “CA State Senator insert-name-here (D)” would be a clue that the creature thereby indicated has taken “How stupid can you be?” as a personal challenge.

“Here, hold my joint and watch this.”

Eden

Sometimes I hope he succeeds in his Calexit endeavor.

CCO

Murder beach??? Yikes. I had a job interview there in the late ’80s.

Mark Lauer

The only possible way that slug could have been even MORE stupid, would be if he had used a TIME Magazine.
