West Palm Beach VA hospital won’t hang Trump portrait
Everyone who has been in the military knows how important it is to have the correct portrait of their commander-in-chief hanging in the orderly room. Your First Sergeant impressed that upon you. That’s why veterans at the West Palm Beach VA hospital told their Congressman, Brian Mast, a disabled, wounded veteran himself, that hospital didn’t have President Trump’s portrait hanging in the empty space at their entrance. Congressman Brian Mast, himself a veteran, brought the men and the portraits to the facility and demanded they be installed. The whole thing was caught on camera.

I have since moved on for obvious reasons. Btw, I use my private insurance because for a 90% SC vet with a Purple Heart, I still wait over TWO MONTHS for a VA appointment versus a few days for my private insurance doc.

This may be appropriate here. President Trump has issued an executive order to seek ways to “Proposed Plan to Improve the Efficiency, Effectiveness, and Accountability of Federal Agencies, Including, as Appropriate, to Eliminate or Reorganize Unnecessary or Redundant Federal Agencies.”
Public input will be invited. A well-written thoughtful essay on how to improve the VA may have the most effect when this happens.

Sounds like the staff there has volunteered for permanent separation from their government checks. Not eligible for hire anywhere in the system in the future.

How would the video be illegally obtained? The Lobby of a VA facility is considered public property last I checked? Anyone in a public space has no protected expectation of privacy according to the courts.
The VA needs to see some people publicly fired and their pensions taken away to send a message it’s time to stop fucking around and do what they get paid to do, take care of our veterans who need their help. All that other bullshit needs to stop now, and stop immediately.

The Video was not legally obtained, because in order to video or photograph on VA Hospital Property you have to have permission from the VA, and written consent of anyone present to be photographed, and or video taped.
And that is clearly posted? (It is at the IRS and Social Security offices I have visited recently.) If folks are supposed to just know it with no posted notice, that just doesn’t fly.
Whether it is or is not true, good luck getting any sympathy from anyone other than a doless bureaucrat.
That’s because they don’t want anyone showing pictures of how veterans are really treated and some of the BS going on in a few of the hospitals.

From my experience, the actual care providers are doing a great job but the leadership is atrocious, rude, and rampant with a feeling of employment entitlement.

First thing Trump needs to do is fire the MPSB and remove that “Appeals for anyone who did something wrong that someone else did” appeal option that will keep getting used.
Then, he needs to get Secretary Shulkin to start tagging VA hospitals one by one and firing those that pull stupid shit like this. Look at complaints and the ones that caused Vets to wait for care they should’ve gotten either in the hospital or through the Choice Program, find the administrators responsible and fire them.
Once he fires the first few, that needs to be publicly released. I bet by about the 5th hospital he goes to there won’t be anymore complaints and grievances and veterans will get their required care in a timely fashion.

I’m just a dumb Sergeant, but I have good ideas once in a while.
Sometimes it really is that easy. I was Acting CSM and one of the first things I did was fire a 1SG with a long reputation of not doing his job, nor keeping his Cdr in check. After that my five 1SGs were responsive, did their job and made sure shit got done. I also didn’t have issues from other NCOs after that. It was only a few months, but I setup the incoming CSM for success.
Even the battalion commander didn’t have issues with commanders after that because they knew they might be next.
Amazing what happens when you fire someone for being a shitbag. Other shitbags either quit, or stop being a shitbag, for the most part.
It goes to show how far the Obunga regime went as infesting government agencies with worthless SJW types who think they have some sort of moral superiority.

As of today, there is still no Official Photograph of President Trump or VA Secretary hanging in any VA facility.
Last month(2/28/2017) a notice was published in our morning e-mails that the Executive Office of the President had yet to issue official portraits of the President, and until such a time that they were, there would be no Photos.
This is being handled extremely bad, and where the actual blame falls for this should be determined. I know for a fact that there are portraits hung on Military Installations, so I am unsure of how it is that the VA has not obtained their copies yet.
That changes things altogether. Only official pics may be used. If none was issued, it is not okay to hang a substitute.
It would be a pretty good guess that they have not been obtained because the folks who are tasked with obtaining them don’t want them. Or, that no one in a position of authority wants to figure out who is supposed to obtain them.
“They” are responsible. “Not my job.” And various other silly excuses.
I wouldn’t be holding my breath on this one.
We’re in the same boat in U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). We have received an official portrait of DHS Secretary Kelly, but not the POTUS. We can’t display one without the other. USCIS HQ is being told that the President’s official photo has not been made yet.
In a sane world the VA Secretary has already called the sorry political hack that runs this hospital and done 2 things: (1) Told him or her to have the current chain of command photos hung in their proper location within the hour, and (2) Fired that POS effective now.
Of course we know none of that has happened, since we’re talking about the VA.
