This country needs a real political revolution. Millions of people feel entirely disenfranchised by a political system that delivered the least favorable and trusted candidates in U.S. history. Many hoped that the Bernie Sanders campaign would represent a new direction and opportunity to take on entrenched power and extreme inequality, for a higher minimum wage, to defend Social Security, rebuild the labor movement, provide universal health care and free tuition.
That campaign was largely suppressed, but its end does not change the desires and aspirations of tens of millions of people, workers and youth in particular, who are demanding real change. On Inauguration Day, thousands will be in the streets to give voice to the millions of people in this country who are demanding systemic change.
Donald Trump is a racist, sexist bigot. We believe that tens of thousands of progressive people will be in the streets on Inauguration Day and in the weeks and months afterward.
An organization called #DisruptJ20 (Disrupt the January 20th Inauguration) doesn’t like the democratic process;
Trump stands for tyranny, greed, and misogyny. He is the champion of neo-nazis and white Nationalists, of the police who kill the Black, Brown and poor on a daily basis, of racist border agents and sadistic prison guards, of the FBI and NSA who tap your phone and read your email.
He is the harbinger of even more climate catastrophe, deportation, discrimination, and endless war. He continues to deny the existence of climate change, in spite of all the evidence, putting the future of the whole human race at stake. The KKK, Vladimir Putin, Golden Dawn, and the Islamic State all cheered his victory. If we let his inauguration go unchallenged, we are opening the door to the future they envision.
Trump’s success confirms the bankruptcy of representative democracy. Rather than using the democratic process as an alibi for inaction, we must show that no election could legitimize his agenda. Neither the Democrats nor any other political party or politician will save us—they just offer a weaker version of the same thing. If there is going to be a positive change in this society, we have to make it ourselves, together, through direct action.
I guess if your candidate doesn’t get elected, that’s a license to be a jerk. I don’t remember any protests at the inauguration of President Obama, or any calls for “direct action” as ominous as that sounds.

What I hope does not happen is that on 20Jan17 some deranged progressive (but I repeat myself) tries to assassinate someone at the inauguration, forcing the Secret Service to neutralize them. That would give the mediots and deranged some more fuel for their fire.
That expressed, I’m pretty confident that the professionals will keep that from happening.
If they’re smart, they’ll use a tranquilizer dart on the deranged progressive and whisk him/her/it away in an ambulance.
Tranqs are notoriously slow to act, and if the target is sufficiently motivated can be ineffective.
An apples to oranges: When my youngest brother was an LEO, they had an escaped Great Dane that was very aggressive (took a bite of rump-roast from another LEO). My brother tranqed him with the recommended dose, then had to repeat multiple times (somewhere between 6 and 10 times) and the dog never fully lost consciousness, was defiant even with massive amounts of drug in him.
If something similar happened with a deranged attacker, they could still up their kill count before the tranqs took over.
remember a time when a Marine was put in the pokey as under the influence, he turned out to be on PCP and when he came down, grabbed a pair of scissors and killed an aide. The guards at the exit of the confinement hallway (I believe at Bethesda?) tagged him something like 7 times with .45s…finally one of them got some sense and put one about the bridge of the nose and stopped the affair. A guy in Sfrancisco was high on something and an officer shot him 6 times with a .38…..didn’t even slow him down….thats about the time we ALL went to .357’s!

I’ve been watching these Commie and crypto-Commie progtards (ANSWER)for years. They always yap about revolution. They would carry out one if there were enough of them, but nationwide there probably aren’t more than a few thousand of them and their fellow travelers, like Commie Poodle. They are basically a bunch of whiny pussies who neither have guns nor know how to use them. The only thing they can shoot off is their mouths. They are adept at having protest signs professionally printed and organizing marches. They are basically traitors; and if there ever was a real revolution or civil war, we would make short work of them. (Code Pink is affiliated with them, if that tells you anything.)
To be fair, I’m sure a couple of obscure extra-wingnut skinhead fucktards called for violence against Obama. But nobody listened to them because A: they’re racist inbred dipshits and contrary to popular belief, the overwhelming majority of conservatives are neither racist nor reactionary, and B) we’re only aware of their existence in an abstract sense, nobody actually pays attention to these dickheads, except their own cousin-sibling-sex partners. There weren’t any activist organizations with A-list donors calling for violence. Nobody blocked a street wearing a McCain t-shirt shouting that somebody needs to die. Hell, even the Oath Keepers, for all their talk, went no further than to say “we’re waiting for him to make the first move,” which he didn’t.
It goes back to the old maxim that conservatives think liberals are wrong, but liberals think conservatives are evil.

I doubt they will, just look at the anecdotes of vandalism, looting, rapes, drugs and the like from “0ccupy” infestations versus the same from Tea Party Rallies. I remember taking part in a few Tea Party rallies where any LE Personnel present were treated with respect and in return they acted like they didn’t mind being there at all!

Everyone knows that January protests in the northeast don’t work out well. It’s freakin’ cold in DC in January. It’s all good fun until the sun goes down and wind begins to howl. The DC gov’t tends to frown on open fires and the cordon will be quite solid and carefully placed. If I were Trump, I would invite Obama and his wife and children to walk Constitution Avenue with me. Symbolically, it will serve to demonstrate the peaceful transition of power but it will also cause a would-be assassin to question his marksmanship and a snowball thrower to doubt his aim and arm.

Folks, this is a personal security warning.
It is badly mistaken to believe that “gun control” advocates, and the left in general, neither possess firearms, nor believe in using them to further violent ends. Many of them do have them, and there is no reason to believe them to have abstained from the multi-year binge buying of arms and ammunition.
If the lefties ferment violent revolution, the key players will be armed, probably a great many of them, and they will use firearms with determination, even with glee.
Some of them even train and practice. I personally know at least two far left types that are quite openly proud of their arms, and skill with them.
The thug-front of the Left has no problem with the moral relativism of “gun control for thee, but not for me”. Nor will they shirk form violently re-educating folks who oppose them. They are counting on the relative law-abide-ness of the Right/patriot types, to disarm them while retaining their own effective monopoly on Force. But know with certainty, they are not -dependent- on successful disarmament for their ends. It’s just a tool in the box to be used as much as feasible.

For the big sin of publishing leaked material, the WaPo and NYT have slandered Wikileaks, Breitbart, Reddit, the Alt-Right, and Steve Bannon with any ugly term they can manage to sling. Now, Gerson says as if it were a fact that the “CIA has shared with Congress its finding that Russia intervened…” Nope. Not true. This is fiction. He is citing a WaPo article that cites an anonymous person paraphrasing an anonymous person. The only “finding” so far is that we STILL do not know who did the leaking or hacking. There is a dead DNC staffer and a missing former officer of the Clinton Foundation, both believed to have been possible sources of the leaks.
