Back in January, in Columbus, Ohio, Jawaun M. Pitts, 21 and Brandon Lee Pollard forced their way into a home. The homeowner had different ideas, however and opened fire on the pair. As they fled, Pollard collapsed from his wounds, DRT. On Thursday, Pitts was sentenced to 14 years in prison for Pollard’s death.
In Dayton, Ohio, three masked men, one in a clown mask, tried to break into an apartment. The resident, however, was armed and fired off a round or two at them and they fled unharmed.
A homeowner in Laurel, Maryland found a window to his home damaged when he returned. He grabbed his shotgun and prowled his house. He saw Robert L. Jefferson, 44 running through his house and let loose at the man as he climbed into his getaway car, breaking one of the windows.The police found the tagged car at a local grocery store and seized Jefferson who was treated for a slight wound to his back.
A pizza delivery man in Henrico County, Virginia, was set up by three men who tried to hijack him with a BB gun. But, the deliveryman wasn’t aware that it wasn’t a real gun – he pulled out a real gun and fired at the teens. One was wounded in the arm and arrested.

When thugs set out to commit thuggery, and one gets shot dead by a legally carrying citizen, the thug buddies get the time for the crime. They are charged with, and pay for, murder. That alone would seem to cause them to rethink their vocation, but these types are not known for their intelligent decision making.
