Thursday morning feel good stories
A homeowner in Hartford Alabama encountered an intruder entering his home through a window, so he shot the man, center mass. The police took him to the hospital with a chest wound – but he’s been released from the hospital and he’s in the company of the other local criminals.
According to Vanessa Laffers, in Decatur, Alabama, her ex-husband stopped by her home to woo her, so she shot him in self defense, center mass, and he was DRT (dead right there) when the police arrived. According to divorce documents, Mark Laffers had been involved in a stand off with police on two previous occasions, but not this time.

Shot in the chest, treated and released. It sounds like the home owner needs to up his caliber.
That, or replace some seriously defective ammunition.
Unless it was a grazing hit, I’m thinking even a .22 rimfire to the chest from close range should require more than “treated and released”.
Only two stories? Well, I’m sure more will turn up as the day goes on.
Nothin’ says lovin’ like a bullet to the gut.
“Hey, honey, I’m back. Can we reconcile?”
Bang …
“No, I don’t think so, honey.”
According to the article, Mark Laffers had been “administratively discharged” from the Army.
But, after two previous run-ins with the po-po and one last chance at love, it looks like Vanessa got the last laff on him.
RIP, Dumbass.
From the article:
Jonathon Mark Leffers served in the Army from February 2005 to July 2014. He served in Afghanistan July 2009 to June 2010. He served in Iraq January 2006 to February 2007. He was administratively discharged.
Well, a random act of journalism. Seems like the “newsies” can do fact checking, when it suits their agenda.
It sad that they can’t check on Green Beret/Seal Team Six/SlRrpeR/snipers who swim the Mekong with rats in their pockets after checking out of the Hanoi Hilton.
Sounds like the Hartford homeowner needed to expend just one more round, also center mass, and save the taxpayers hospital, court and jail expenses on the intruder. All that money saved, just for the measly cost of one more round.
So remember boys and girls. next time you’re in a situation, and you’re asking yourself, “Just one more round? Or not?”, YES, DO IT!
Rule #2: the double tap:
No matter how convoluted, a story is always easier to tell when there is only one side.
