The road to hell is paved with good intentions
In his rush to look like a good liberal, carpetbagger Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe restored voting rights to more than 200,000 felons, some of whom are still in prison. McAuliffe claimed that only felons who had completed their sentences and their parole would have their rights restored. However, the task seems to have been too complicated for his staff to accomplish according to the Virginian-Pilot;
“This is obviously a massive administrative undertaking,” [McAuliffe’s spokesman, Brian Coy] said. “We are working constantly to refine the working administrative database that we’re using to implement this process. As we are made aware of ways we can refine it, we’re executing those refinements immediately.”
The state corrected the errors Thursday after inquiries from The Post about why the civil rights of Cloud [a murdering child molester in West Virginia prison], Harmon Wright [a murdering cop who killed a Sunday school teacher] and several others were restored, according to a searchable database on the Secretary of Commonwealth website. Their rights were restored on April 22, the day McAuliffe signed the clemency order.
State Del. Robert B. Bell, R-Albemarle, who is running for attorney general, said the errors confirmed the concerns voiced by critics.
“This exceeds our worst fears,” Bell said. “He did not even comply with his own very, very modest restrictions. At least if you’re going to do it, do it right.”
The glitch seemed to have happened with people who were convicted of their crimes committed in Virginia, but imprisoned in other States. But McAuliffe needed to restore voting rights in time for felons to cast their votes for Hillary Clinton, so what’s a few voting violent felons when the revolution is at stake?
In addition to Cloud and Harmon-Wright, they discovered Cecil Leonard Hopkins, 51, who strangled his girlfriend and pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. He is living in Maryland under supervised probation.
Two others – Virgil J. Dantic, 77, and Frank P. Ferrara, 52 – are serving time in Virginia prisons for sex crimes, records show.
“There’s going to be lots and lots more. That’s part of the problem with rushing this through,” [Jim Fisher, Fauquier commonwealth’s attorney] said.
Is there room enough in that hand basket for all of us?

Well, I knew McAwful was a whack job. This just proves it. He should be removed from his orifice posthaste.
Think, TAR, FEATHERS, RAIL….!!!
Did he also restore their rights to posses firearms? If they served their time and should have their voting rights restored, there should be no obstacles towards them having the right to firearms.
I was wondering the same thing. Then when they commit another crime it will be the gun culture’s fault.
What a F’n jerk

This is the reason you can’t find a London broil, Dave. It’s been relabeled as ‘bad for you’ because it’s red meat.
Everything that we take for granted is being turned upside down and inside out.
Therefore, if you want a London broil, you must find a thick-cut flank steak (or top round).
And if you want this kind of incredibly stupid, greed-based, loss of freedom to stop, then you must vote even if you have to hold your nose to do it.
That last line is the exact truth. I might vomit a little, but I will vote.
And leave the rabbits alone. What did rabbits ever do to you?
In California, where the majority of drivers licenses given out in the last year went to illegals, they have instituted automatic voter registration when you get your license. But not to worry, they are going to “verify” that you’re eligible to vote first.
In other news, the Brooklyn bridge is up for sale. Again.
I served on juries twice in CA, and was called for jury duty at least two additional times.
The number of people who got away with not serving because they were here illegally and illegally obtained their licenses, and fully admitted it made me want to puke.
What’s bad is that it seems like most of the stupid shit we are having to put up with has origins in California. So the more they do, the more we have to get ready for.
No offense to our friends in Cali. Much love to you. You all just seem to have more backwards ass, freaked out, liberal, wasted, lazy, have to fundamentally change America, F&@$ heads than the rest of us. I don’t know how you do it, but God bless you.
Are they saying that Virginia has no accurate data base of the status of their felons? Maybe they are just ignoring information already in official file. Yeah, that must be it.
just like the Dems ignore information on who are the most likely perps in violent crime, who the shooters are, etc. I read an estimate that in NYC they estimate there are less than 300 people who commit the majority of all gun crime, and that most are known to the police. Instead, whenever they target groups for increasing gun controls, they target the law abiding legal gun owners. Makes you wonder whether their stated agenda is really what they want…
And who said that the intention was ever good?
+1
Ding ding ding!!! No more calls please, we have a winner!
McAuliffe is being investigated by the feds for taking foreign money (Chinese I think)for his campaign in consort with Hillary. So there is hope yet.
That’s McDonnell in the court.
No, the current governor of Virginia is being investigated by the FBI.

Implying the democratic party has good intentions for America is atrocious. They’ve become the antithetical political part of America and don’t even pretend to hide it any longer.
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” I was taught that expression by my mother, who was no doubt learned that from her mother. I have said it many, many times over the years. It is simple. It is true.
I never have gotten a criminal case as a prospective juror. The prosecutor never has a problem with me. The defense atty hates me. I wear a jacket and tie and my shoes are black and highly polished. One look and I’m out.
Got to sit on two juries – the first civil and the second criminal. Both were fun, fun, fun. Was empaneled as an alternate on a rather high profile criminal case more recently, but the guy decided to plead out as soon as the jury was chosen.
I got called for jury duty last month for a “man” that murdered two police officers. As soon as the defense found out that two of my siblings are police officers he decided that he didn’t want me on the jury.
