Thursday morning feel good stories
In Nashville, Tennessee, an apartment resident awoke to the sounds of someone busting in through his door. He grabbed his gun and closed his bedroom door. When the intruder entered the bedroom, the resident yelled for him to freeze. Instead, the criminal reached for his waistband. The resident sent sent some rounds center mass – the thief tried to run, but collapsed outside the bedroom. When the police arrived, the perp was DRT (dead right there).
Near San Francisco, California, Joe Balistreri shot an intruder who had forced his way into Balistreri’s parents’ home back in 2012. Joe is facing a civil lawsuit for shooting the intruder despite the fact that the local prosecutor decided the shooting was justified.
In Wills Point, Texas, the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Department responded to a home invasion call and found the intruder DRT (dead right there). The homeowner was also injured, but his injuries aren’t life-threatening.
In Selma, Alabama, a woman was at the local ATM machine when she was approached by a masked gunman. Her grandson saw the events unfold and pulled out his own gun they engaged in a brief gunfight and the thief took off – Selma police got a call from nearby Prattville police to report that thief was in a hospital there being treated for a wound.
Hack Stone sends us a link to the story of a 15-year-old boy in Spotsylvania, Virginia whose mother’s boyfriend was pounding on her. The boy went a got a gun and put an end to the domestic dispute. When police arrived, the boyfriend was DRT (dead right there) and since Virginia considers all gun deaths to be second-degree murder until proven otherwise, the boy is cooling his heels in the Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Detention Center until the prosecutor decides it wasn’t murder.

Sweet. 5 for 5 with 3 Dead Right There, and two wounded and in pain.
Decent police work on the Selma, AL, case. Prattville’s about 30-35 miles away and in a different county.
Juvenile detention…WTF is wrong with these people?
Spotsylvania County is about 1/2 way between Richmond and DC. That means it’s in NoVA.
I think you can figure it out from there.
The Spotsy folks would disagree. According to them, anything north of the Confederate battle flag on I-95 north of Frdericksburg is NoVa, anything south is Virginia. I blame it on out lame ass governor.
Ain’t buying that, Bobo. The VRE runs as far south as Spotsylvania Co. Because of that, they’ve been infected by NoVA-itis.
The lad should be in a phuqing parade down Main St. then given the keys to the city.
FFS !!
Now that the asshat perp has lost his civil lawsuit against Joe B, and Joe is struggling to pay his legal fees defending himself against the civil suit, maybe Joe should file a countersuit against said asshat perp, for “mental pain and anguish”.
Sometimes, it’s the only way some animals learn.
Hey. It’s Sham FranCrisco. Anything is possible.
Good luck Joe, with your GoFundMe.
Meanwhile … across town …
Gun rights advocate accidentally shot in the back by her 4-year-old son
http://mashable.com/2016/03/09/kid-shoots-gun-advocate-mom/
Accidents happen. They’re more likely to happen when someone does something stupid.
Examples of something stupid include driving a car with known bad brakes, unsafe tires, or a serious steering issue. Leaving a weapon where a child can get it without supervision also qualifies.
Do you have a point beyond the obvious one I just stated for you, and which the article to which you linked demonstrates?
He never has a point.
Agreed, Jonn. I was just politely making that fact clear.
well, he does clearly make a point that defensive uses of guns at several times the rate of accidental shootings. Well done, 91A1P-appreciate the pro-gun support.
Obvious Troll is obvious.
Must be related to a certain “agitator” who voices his opinions on political issues here at TAH…
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Leaving a loaded gun where a 4 year old can get it certainly qualifies.
As a former police officer, I had guns and kids, and I taught the kids about guns, how to shoot, safety etc…imho kids go to guns because they are a big secret, kids are curious, if taught, shown guns, allowed to learn to shoot, the mystery is gone…my kids never caused a problem never went to my gun(s) without me…!

Read that one. The BLM folks will probably be all over that one. How dare them shoot that poor murderer. He was only trying to improve his life. /sarc
That’s right, he dindu nuffin. He was just trying to get back to medical school to start the Spring term.
Joe Balistreri failed to remember the cardinal rule when defending yourself against an intruder, “Make sure there’s only one story told…yours.”
