Ronnie Arthur Carter; phony Vietnam POW
Someone sent us their work on this Ronnie Carter fellow. He fell on hard times and his high school buddy set up a GoFundMe account for him to repair his furnace.
I don’t know what being a POW or a Vietnam veteran has to do with a furnace, well, except to garner more sympathy, but, of course, Ronnie wasn’t a POW, according to the DPAA.
The National Personnel Records Center disagrees with him and his claims to be a POW and a Vietnam veteran;
He had about nine months of service and never left the United States. Now if his friends want to help him, that’s fine, I have no problem with that, but don’t do it because you think he was a POW or that he served in Vietnam – he didn’t do either.

1. For completeness, here are links to DPAAs lists of personnel who either escaped captivity or who were returned to US custody during or immediately after the Vietnam War:
http://www.dpaa.mil/portals/85/Documents/VietnamAccounting/pmsea_escapee.pdf
http://www.dpaa.mil/portals/85/Documents/VietnamAccounting/pmsea_returnee.pdf
No one with the last name “Carter” appears on either of those lists. The lists also are comprehensive, and include those who were held for periods as short as less than one day (e.g., the lists include those personnel who were captured and escaped/rescued the same day).
2. Here is the full list of those formerly MIA/POW in SEA who have been accounted for to date.
http://www.dpaa.mil/portals/85/Documents/VietnamAccounting/pmsea_acc_p_name.pdf
Only two individuals with the last name “Carter” appear on that list. Both came home in a box multiple decades after their demise. Both had the first name “James”.
3. Four Americans with the last name “Carter” remain missing in SEA. They were all KIA/bodies not recovered or have been presumptively declared deceased. None of them had the first and middle names “Ronnie Arthur”; none of them were from Maine.

“Vietnam POW” my butt. Screw this LSoS.
A 268 day POW enduring “pain and horrors”…..was a “medic” in the Navy? Oh boy!
Any words I have for this guy would put me on someone’s terror watch list.
Calling him “scum of the earth” is a promotion.
Doesn’t look like he was even that.
If I’m reading that correctly, he did go to Corps school for a while, but didn’t finish, because his rating changed from HA (Hospitalman Apprentice) or E-2, to Seaman Apprentice.
At that point, he pulled some hinky shit to get the boot as quickly as he did. YMMV.
Yes, looks like he was disenrolled from HM “A” School and sent to “the Fleet” as a seaman. Got booted our of the Navy from there.
Fucking shitbird…
Navy Medic….yeah, that’s the ticket. I remember going to Great Lakes and becoming a Navy Medic quite well. Navy Medics have a long and honorable tradition of service in the Navy Medic Corps.
Douche Bag
This guy is really something else. He isn’t just playing a violin, he’s playing the entire violin section. Cripes. The GFM update recounts (with quotes!) that a doctor asked, ‘”had Ron ever been in Vietnam???”‘ When he heard the response, and the POW story, he simply said…'”test him for parasites, specifically Giardia!!!”‘
Well, if that’s not perfect, I don’t know what is. The suggestion is that Carter might have or have had a common, waterborne parasite. HE IS A PARASITE! Let’s see, he lost sons. His family was wiped out. He was caught in a tornado and, when it hit, he was busily changing the wiper blades on his truck and hurt. (That’s from GoFundMe Dec 2015 update.) I am dizzy from reading this bullshit. I need to start a GoFu–Yourself page to counter crap like this. Oh–and how many Navy EMs were POWs. Use your fingers. On one hand. You will find that you need not use most of them.
I’ll start a go-fund-me for a new bottle of Woodford Reserve Bourbon…..it’ll lighten things up for sure 🙂
How’ve you been 2/17?
Good, brother. The next time I’m on the whale, I’ll let you know. It has been a long while since I was last there but I’m ready for a nostalgic trip on the LIE.
It’s been too long for you…I can tell. Have you forgotten that there is NOTHING nostalgic about any trip on the LIE unless you want the pain a frustration of a multi-hour commute going W/B at 0730. lol
Take care Jim.
And two entire families wiped out! One son, then a wife and 3 young’uns in the second case…wait for it….by an illegal, illegal alien driver no less.
Maybe instead of 268 days as a POW, he meant he had 268 days of total active duty? LOL.
What do you want to bet that his sob story about his family getting wiped out by an illegal alien is total BS too?
Is it just me or are the only people that are VietNam vets are the ones that don’t say anything about it? Damn if I ain’t getting tired of these clowns.
Are all of these phony guys starting to look alike to anyone else?
The look that says lights are on but nobody home, neckbeard, etc?
Does kinda look familiar.
Yep.
Especially if they’re from Florida, which seems to be poser central. He’s just missing his leather vest full of bling, but I’m sure it’s on order.
The stories are similar, too. Helo shot down, transport north in tiger cage; killed three guards bare-handed and swim down the river from hanoi to saigon.
Using the bodies of the three dead guards as flotation devices …
Must be the basic “SV Disguise Kit” sold by APL/DRG Industries for the low, low price of $29.95!!! Other options are available depending on how much you want to spend!
Uncanny, isn`t it? I don`t know which pisses me off more; PHM or POW phonies. I reckon that hate and disgust for them is 50/50-or 100%.
Shitbag.
Turd.
A whopping nine months of service in the sixties, was he a bedwetter, toe-tapper or an uphill gardener?
My stubby #2 pencil fills in multiple choice answer (d) = All of the above.
Methinks thou art correct.
Claw…….the only thing this guy and I have in common, is the same last name! Another POW phony
GoFundMe? How about go GoF***Yourself you lying POS
Word.
this is looking like a new trend as of lately scamming GFM it’s time to start posting my well wishes on it 🙂
and by the way WORD ^^^^^
on your comment Lol…
another Ass Clown bites the dust ! ! ! !
Next ! ! ! ! !
When we have our Viet Nam reunion our war stories may get bigger each year but we only tell them to our buddies that were there with us.
When we have our Viet Nam reunions, our war stories may grow a little each year but, at least we only tell them to the guys that we know were there with us.
” Ronnie fought, and suffered, for his country and made, what I consider to be, the, almost, ultimate sacrifice for his service/and country………being a POW for 268 days. ” This from the posers` buddy who set up the GFM page.
Mr. Whitmore, you have either been duped or you are an accomplice in the fraud perpetrated here. I hope that you will comment here on which one of the two fits.
I don’t know that there is a Mr. Whitmore. Am I suggesting that it might be Ronnie “Tornado” Carter himself? No. Well kinda. Okay. Yes. I certainly am.
2/17 Air Cav, reckon you`ve nailed it. I`m pretty sure that makes me hate

I’m a Taco Bell vet…I survived 24 hours of flatulence.
Now buy me a new furnace.
Good news is that it appears that no one has donated to this person since the truth came to light.
The bad news is that the ad is still active. Makes me wonder what it takes exactly to shut down a phony campaign on go fund me.
Same here. BTW I noticed that nobody else has donated to DallASS Whipandflopit’s gofundme as well. You might want to use your “de-anonymizer” there again.
