Frozen, Glazed, and Snowed-In
Well, I sit here and I shiver
It’s winter where I am
This weather sucks the big one
Hell it’s just not worth a damn
I’ve been out front shoveling snow
My back’s seen better days
Need hot pads, beer, and Motrin
Plus two tubes of Ben Gay, hyeaah
Now the landscape is all frozen
Damn weather’s gotten stuck
Choices are “snow” or “an ice storm”
Man, this winter sure does suck

Speaking of winter, over the past few weeks, I’ve been braving the colder than normal conditions in my area to go for 6 mile runs before the sun goes up. The five visible planets are available for viewing during different parts of the run.
From the horizon to the zenith: Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter. Mercury becomes visible on the way back to the start point. The other four are visible during the duration of the run, with Scorpio, Libra, Virgo and Leo visible.
Am I more envious of your astronomy skills or your ability to run six miles? Yeah, it’s the astronomy, since with work I can still get up to six miles…though the years are starting to weigh heavy…

It was cold here in SE Texas last week, I had to wear long pants instead of the shorts I normally wear.
But winter is taking a rest from us I guess, it’s going to be close to 80 later this week…
Remember, you can’t shovel heat…

I am more precisely east of the gladed water, but just slightly over 80 yards short of the longest view in a town where the oak is white close to a place where Jen thinks her discoveries are of good fortune.
Eh, move to New Mexico. Only snow is up in the mountains and if it does make it to the valley it will be melted by the afternoon.
As a SoCal resident who’s been to LA (no more than I absolutely have to), I’ll never be desperate enough to move to that cesspool.
The winter here in the ass end of the San Joaquin Valley has been brutal.
Night time temps have gotten as low as +40f. Day temps often times down in the mid +60s.
And it’s rained this winter… twice!
We’re practically neighbors, Grimmy. I’m down at the ass end of Monterey County. It’s been a little colder and wetter here, but not by much.
Doesn’t it just suck when you have to wear a wetsuit to go surfing? Gnarly waves this time of year though…
