Wednesday morning feel good stories
We begin our stories in Fort Worth, Texas this morning. It looks like someone tried to force their way into a home and the homeowner retaliated with a single shot. The intruder was DRT (dead right there). Fox4 says that a man called the police to tell them his son stopped two intruders when they kicked down his door. Well, he stopped at least one.
In Cusseta, Alabama, 85-year-old Curtis Thornton Rudd and wife heard people breaking into their home. Curtis went to check on the intrusion and got into a gun fight with the criminals. Rudd was dead when police arrived, but one of the murderers showed up at the hospital with a gun shot wound. The second criminal is still on the run for the time being. But Curtis is smiling down because his wife was unhurt.
In Mobile, Alabama, a man was unloading his groceries from his car when he was approached by an armed thief who demanded his wallet. The victim handed the criminal his wallet, then he pulled out his own gun and drilled the thief twice. The thief ran away, but he didn’t get far – he collapsed nearby DOT (dead over there) from two wounds. the vctim’s wallet was found still in the criminal’s grubby paw.
An off-duty police officer in Medford, Oregon shot a shoplifter who made menacing gestures at the officer with a knife. The thief was DRT (dead right there).

RIP Curtis Thornton Rudd, Good shooting and rest well.
Nothing from Chicago? That’s strange.
TOT (Thug on Thug)?
God Bless Texas and Sweet Home Alabama – two of my favorite songs.
Don’t know any Oregon songs. Do they have music up there??
Oregon music is so good they call it grunge…
that’s Seattle, we have indie rock here (and lots of crazy folk music)
The shoot in Mobile was at an apartment across the road from my alma mater. Good shooting by the CCW. I think we can give the guy a weekend off from the range. Suspect was some 18-year-old street trash, so there are locals whining ‘he was just a kid.’ It’s a correction of sorts: most of the robberies around here are punks out on bond for other robberies. If the courthouse would quit turning the punks loose as soon as they’re arraigned, crime in Mobile would drop meteorically.
Also, playing Sweet Home Alabama in a bar here will get you laughed at- it’s turned into a cliche.
It’s catch ‘n’ release unless you want to spend the money for cages — er — housing.
Condolences to the Alabama widow of the husband who died for her.
You have to give the old guy credit for guts. I hope he made it to Valhalla, myself.
I’m sure that old boy made it in spades.
Boy, all kinds of thugs taking the DRT, DOT naps!
Great news this morning !!!
[Obligatory] But… They were just trying to change their lives…
I’d say they succeeded. From ATG to BTG.
