US: ISIS Used Chem Weapons Against Kurds

| August 23, 2015

US authorities have confirmed that ISIS used chemical weapons in an 11 August 2015 attack against Kurdish forces.

After the attack, numerous Kurdish personnel became ill.  Kurdish forces obtained shell fragments from shells used by ISIS during the attack and provided them to the US for analysis.

Preliminary analysis indicates that the shell fragments tested positive for agent HD – sulfur mustard.

It is not known where ISIS obtained these agents.  Both Syrian and Iraqi stocks are a possibility, since ISIS has occupied large portions of each nation and both are reputed to have stockpiled chemical weapons in the past.

But remember:  don’t worry, be happy.  Iraqi and Syrian WMDs don’t pose any threat – in fact, the former don’t even exist .  Nothing to see here; move along.

(I trust the fact that the final paragraph above is sarcasm is quite obvious.)

Even if the shells were stamped “made in Iraq” the Liberals would still hold on to the whole WMD lie thing. You are right, though. The weapons could have come from Syria or Iraq. We know for a fact that Syria had them.

The Dead Man

Showed a friend a picture of some EOD Guys standing in front of a chemical weapons stockpile while the news article talked about it. His response was literally, “Those aren’t WMD’s, those are artillery.”

I made him look up the gas attack in Japan. He never mentioned it again, but still held his position. It’s ingrained.

Did you really expect him to climb down off the pink pony he’s been flying and engage with reality? Come on! As long as these people have their heads in the clouds, they will not believe anything but those ingrained lies.
It was when the UN inspectors were blocked from entering Iraq for weeks that I knew there was something going on. Before that, the news stories about shipments of construction materials like corrugated piping that could be converted to weaponry being blocked at the shipping docks in the UK gave HUGE hints that something bad was underway. I just wondered how long it would be before the stuff hit the fan blades. When C-SPAN showed the video of the partially-completed launcher designed by Gerald Bull, located in Iraq, I knew what was going on.
The people who don’t want to face the real possibly of their own destruction by these rabid animals are the first ones who will come running to you and me to protect them.
But they will never admit that they were wrong.

Yep. We use water balloons to employ chemical agent…

I could’ve sworn there was something about a “red line” regarding the use of WMDs. Maybe it was just empty posturing.

OAE CPO USN Ret

Reminds me Qadaffi’s line of death, but this time coming from the current administration.

Eric

They didn’t mean “those” kind of WMD being a Red Line.

ISIS would need to bring a nuclear device and set it off in front of the white house. Then, “maybe” they are crossing the red line. (Unless the Obamas are on vacation in Hawaii.)

Mike Kozlowski

Eric,

I suspect that if DC went up tomorrow and the President wasn’t there, his only real response would be to insist that the new capital would be disabled and LGBT friendly.

Mike

Eric

I think it already is LGBT and disabled friendly.

You can’t be successful there if you don’t suck someone’s dick and/or kiss someone’s ass.

Along with that, people in gummint there are mentally disabled.

But if they had to rebuild, I’m guessing the white house would become the rainbow house.

Your Creepy Uncle

Too bad our turkish allies are too busy bombing the Kurds to bother with ISIS…..

Green Thumb

No shit.

The Kurds are the only people with anything between their ears and we continue to screw them over.

Maybe we can pay the Turks to fight ISIS. oh, but wait, we will be broke after we give everything to Iran.

Just arm the Kurds and cut them loose.

Problem solved.

Remember that “Thank you America” ad on TV after we tossed out Saddam?

Kurds.

The Other Whitey

Can we nuke the fuckers now?

Roh-Dog

I hear many civilians sympathy and pity when I tell them I went to Iraq. One woman came right out and said, “I’m sorry you had to go there” like it was the greatest disaster in U.S. History and I was a wounded puppy.
My first trip to that country I was in Kirkuk for the first democratic election that country had ever seen. The joy those Kurds displayed for the gift we gave them made the 13 month separation from my family, culture and beer worth it.
We had heard the stories, we saw the carnage of Sadam’s violence against the Kurds. I made a promise to my young adult-self to try and make sure this never happens to such a warm, inviting and historically suppressed people.
Thanks President Obama for utterly lying to the American people by promising retaliation if these weapons are used. Thanks so much for making me, through your power and responsibility in carrying out the duties of your office, complicit in sitting idly by as genocide of the Kurds is once again happening. And a fully levy of my my deepest gratitude for working such a great deal with Turkey that the Kurds have no where to run, are being attacked with chemical weapons, and slaughtered en masse.
You’ve done it Mister President, you resurected Saddam Hussein! He may just get his dream of a pan-Arab state yet…

Green Thumb
