Six more arrested in ISIS recruiting investigation

| April 20, 2015

ABC News reports that six more people were arrested in San Diego and Minneapolis yesterday in a federal investigation of an ISIS recruiting operation;

The arrests come as the FBI has been trying to uncover ISIS sympathizers inside the U.S. homeland who might be looking to launch their own attacks. In addition, the FBI in Minneapolis has been trying to identify who has been helping to recruit so many young men and women to join ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

In December, federal prosecutors in Minneapolis called the recruitment pipeline “a longstanding criminal conspiracy with members known and unknown.”

What’s more, some of those Minnesotans persuaded to take up arms with the brutal terrorist group obtained money and other support from “a person or persons unknown” to the U.S. government, federal prosecutors said in December.

The article says that more than 50 people have been arrested in the last two years for their support of ISIS. There are two ways to stop this threat. The first would be to kill those ISIS dregs in Syria and Iraq in larger numbers so that it’s no longer attractive for people to want to be members. Another would be to effectively block the return of folks from this country when try to return to ply their particular trades against Americans.

While the feds have been successful up until now, all it takes is one slipping through and being successful for them to have a victory. They’re not particularly bright and easy to catch at the moment, but they’ll learn eventually.

I used to date a girl in Minneapolis about 10 years ago. Even then, there was a very large African Muslim immigrant population who were not particularly interested in assimilation. let’s just say that I’m not shocked that there is a plethora of willing and available jihadist there.

I see it every day, as someone who lives here. A couple years ago, when there was that explosion in the Cedar/Riverside neighborhood, the commie politicians and lefty police chief got up in front of the cameras right away to say that it was caused by a gas leak. The fire dept. said “um, no it wasn’t”. And that was the last thing you heard about it from the fire dept. Gee; I wonder why? Could it be that above the shops in that building were a mosque and apartments for single muslim men???? Nah, that had nothing to do with it………………

Pinto Nag

Same thing in Denver.

I’m going to have to stop trying to hit reply. Damn twitching fingers. Sorry about that. I meant to type, we had an incident here in Lansing about 1:30a.m after an muslim family moved in here. Explosion woke me. I went out with my shepherd and the phone. Over 2 blocks and called the police. Met 2 more of my neighbors that night. I swear we’ve got more Vets in this neighborhood than…well anyone. Great place to retire.

Block them from returning to this country? How about blocking them from leaving their ISIS destination once they get there?

And if the UK and other countries can do it and are doing it now, why are we NOT doing it?

GDContractor

How about giving them jobs while they’re over there… like “grave digger”.

I say the Nordic types in the Twin Cities should bring back the Blood Eagle from their ancestry.

I’m more concerned about the ones the Feds DON’T catch. Are they trying to go after the recruiters instead of the dolts they go after, or do they consider that as “Profiling”?

This has been a problem since the 90’s when the churches (with the best of intentions) set up sanctuaries for thousands of Somali refugees. They basically stood at the front of the church and dared the government to arrest the illegals. I see that in 20 years it’s only gotten worse and the chickens have come home to roost.

OldSoldier54

Yep … alas.

A Proud Infidel®™

A lot of that was financed by donations from rich liberal “Do-Gooders” who saw that these “Refugees” were relocated nowhere near their gated communities. My Mom used to practice from time to time up in Maine where a number of them were sent, and all that brought was a spike in local crime rates.

UpNorth

Wait, are you telling us that the Somalis don’t really come from a place that has similar weather to Minneapolis? Shut the front door!!! 🙂

Simply question and possible answer. So, when are they going to start undercover infiltration of the “peace loving” American Islamic Mosques? My belief has long been, these Mosques are havens for sympathizers, organizers, travel assistants and financial support. When is the government going to call a real threat a real threat and take the kid gloves and treat the Muslims in America as the sympathizers they are? When these American Mosques and Imams teach from and believe in the Koran and its tenants of faith, then they cannot deny their support for Sharia law in America and ultimately, Muslim world domination.

Pinto Nag

It’s already been decided. The feds cannot go into the mosques legally.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

*cough* uhh yes that’s correct *cough*

No legal *cough* way to get that intel *cough*….

Pinto Nag

Precisely. I thank God every day that our Fed law enforcement is persistent, hardnosed, and creative. That’s probably the only reason we haven’t had another 9/11.

Big tall tree and a short peace of rope…put a skittish horse beneath every one of them. Underneath said horse a large pile of bacon, ham hocks and pork chops…

SFC D

Just the entrails and offal. No point in wasting perfectly good pork products!

OldSoldier54

Amen, Brother!

Careful JohnE, I think that may be Bacon Heresy!

A Proud Infidel®™

Amen to that, SAVE THE BACON, and spatter the used grease on their corpses .

JohnE

Okay, how about old rancid bacon…the stuff you wouldn’t even fish with. After rubbing down the noose and saddle with a nasty old pork chop.

Better yet…instead of the horse, use an ornery old hog who has been rooting about in the woods for a few years unsupervised.

Someday, some bright historian will write his thesis explaining that while the Islamists declared war on the US in the ’70s, the US didn’t get around to fighting back (and even then only spasmodically) until the 2000s. I sincerely hope his title is not “The Downfall of the Former United States.”

OldSoldier54

If certain folks don’t pull their head out of their fourth point of contact, that is very possible, IMO.
