Tuesday morning feel good stories

| March 10, 2015

Amy sends us our first feel good story this morning, this time it comes from Texas;

In broad daylight Saturday, three suspects attempted to break into a man’s home.

But they were quickly chased off as the homeowner grabbed a gun and opened fire, hitting two of the suspects.

The suspects started banging on the front door of the man’s home. When he opened the door, they attempted to barge in.

“We seen guys running off because we had the door open,” said neighbor Matthew Carter.

A window in Carter’s house was struck by a stray bullet during the shooting. But Carter says he holds no ill will.

Chief Tango sends us two more stories, the first is from Michigan;

The incident happened around 4:00 a.m. in the 11000 block of Minden in Detroit. The woman was heading back inside her home after returning from the store.

When she saw the suspect charging at her, she opened fire. According to the woman’s husband, the man got back up after being shot in the chest and said he was going to kill her.

That’s when her husband let their two dogs out, a pitbull and a bulldog. The dogs pulled the 47-year-old suspect back over the fence and kept him there until police arrived. The woman’s husband says the dogs were protecting her.

Finally, from Texas, again;

According to police, a man who lives in the shop at Buena Vista Street and South San Marcos heard someone breaking into the building just before 7 a.m.

The man then shot at the suspected burglar, who took off on foot, said police.

Police said they then found a man with a gunshot wound a couple of blocks away from the auto shop.

First responders took the man with the gunshot wound to University Hospital in stable condition.

“We seen guys running off because we had the door open,”

And 3 guys went for the neighbor? Open door? And you go for the next house?

Sorry if I just shake my head, but it would seem that today’s criminals are not much smarter than the young men joining the military nowadays, but that’s an opinion for another page. LOL

Now, let’s talk about the one who got hit in the chest and got back up threatening to kill.
I really think a larger caliber would be in order. 🙂 I shoot someone in the chest, well, they just ain’t gettin’ back up.

And since this is feel good stories, here’s my joke of the day:

A 93-year-old woman who was particularly despondent over the recent death of her husband, decided that she would just kill herself and join him in death. Thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out his old Army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart since it was badly broken anyway. Not wanting to miss the vital organ and become a vegetable and a burden to someone, she called her doctors office to inquire exactly where the heart would be on a woman. The doctor said, “Your heart would be just below your left breast.” Later that night Mildred was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her knee.

Wife is looking for her first carry gun and really likes the feel of the Kimber CDP II. She asked if it was available in 9mm. I told her that it was, but if she’s going to carry a 1911, it needs to be in .45 ACP just for that reason.

While Kimber makes a good weapon, might I suggest Para? They are, in my experience, equal to better quality without wasting money. They can get pricey as you climb up the ladder, but they start out quite a bit cheaper without sacrificing quality.

Thanks, I’ll have her take a look at those, too. She was looking for something that would be comfortable to hold. Honestly, we already have a plethora of handguns in the house for her to choose from (thanks, Paul), but she wants something that’s just hers.

How about a Sig Sauer? beautiful guns

The second story is SO “Special” on three levels.
First, for the “special” dumb-assery of the crook. He’s SHOT, and yet he gets up and threatens to kill the wife. D-U-M-B!
Second, for the wife for being ARMED, and having the presence of mind, and the will, to shoot the thug.
Third, for the husband, for “releasing the hounds”. That part gave me a good chuckle.

“That’s when her husband let their two dogs out, a pitbull and a bulldog.”

Awwww, the poochies got a new chew-toy.

Regarding story 2. Detroit has a CPL-friendly police chief. The woman is under arrest because investigators didn’t like her story. No matter how this situation turns out, it disproves the gun control people’s theory that concealed carry and “stand your ground” are “open season” to murder people. Even in a city where the police chief supports concealed carry the police are on the job, asking questions, and following the law. That is the right thing to do so good on the City and the cops for that.

OC

A tip for the woman in story two – it’s called double tap.

Richard

Mozambique. Two in the chest and one in the head. It always makes the target dead; that is what you call a professional job.

Some leftovers from training

Anything worth shooting once is worth shooting twice.

It’s a handgun, not a cannon. Ya gotta shoot ’em twice – at least.

Double tap (or controlled pair, which ever you can manage) then high ready, sweep for targets, and reevaluate.

Keep shooting until the threat stops.

DON’T PICK UP YOUR BRASS! This isn’t a shooting range!

Anyone else?

BOILING MAD CPO

Been awhile since I have commented but I could not let OZZIE11B have the last word about what type of person joins the military.

I would enjoy reading your opinion on another day. I also did not understand the LOL. If this an attempt at humor then just forget this post. I get it that some very dumb criminals are out there and also some dumb military members. I watch You Tube and slap my forehead on some of the shit for brains videos that are submitted. Watch the song U. of Oklahoma sang about race and their fraternity. Jut proves that some people have not developed a capacity for good sense.
