Sunday morning feel good story

| February 15, 2015

Today’s feel good story happened several days ago, but I don’t think we wrote about this fellow from Texas who ran into an armed homeowner;

Henry Rodriguez is still reeling from the close encounter he had Sunday just before noon.

It happened near I-10 and Rredericksburg, on west Mistletoe Avenue.

Rodriguez was upstairs, resting when he heard noises. “A really loud knocking that woke me up.” That’s exactly what it was a really loud knocking that woke me up.” He went downstairs to check things out. That’s when he says he came face to face with a stranger standing in his living room.

“Feeling threatened, I just grabbed my pistol. It was either me or him literally.” Rodriguez had reason to feel threatened. We tracked eight previous home burglaries near his west mistletoe avenue home.

He says he grabbed his 9mm Smith and Wesson to stop the intruder in his tracks.

“I practice at the range doing five shot bursts and lucky for him I only shot twice.” He then used his cell phone to dial 911.

When officers arrived 35-year old Rudy Perez was taken to the hospital and eventually charged with burglary.

Damn! Only two shots!? Should have followed his training and completed the five rounds. Save everyone a massive amount of headaches and taxpayer dollars by taking Mr Perez to the morgue instead of the hospital.
