Wednesday morning feel good story

| January 21, 2015

The first story today comes from Ohio;

Officers responding to a shooting just after midnight found David A. Mullins, 28, behind 142 Hayden Ave., homicide detectives said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As officers found Mullins, a man called Columbus police and said he had shot a person who had tried to rob him at gunpoint.

Detectives have not released the name of the robbery victim, but said that the evidence indicates Mullins was committing a robbery. They did not elaborate.

The family of Mr. Mullins thinks there’s something fishy about the shooting because their boy wouldn’t do anything like rob someone. The crowd he was running with would, but not Mr. Mullins, himself.

The next one comes from Georgia;

Investigators said the victim, Joseph Toombs, was waiting in line at the drive-thru when he saw three suspects approach him on foot. At least one suspect was armed with a gun.

Police said Toombs pulled out his own gun and shot at the suspects, striking 19-year-old Kenneth Brayboy. Brayboy was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition; he later died.

The other two suspects ran; one has since been caught. That suspect, 17-year-old Desmond McKnight, has been charged with murder, criminal attempt to commit armed robbery and tampering with evidence.

Finally, from Delaware;

Troopers said a male suspect wearing a mask entered the BP gas station at 4001 Lancaster Pike in Wilmington just before 6 p.m. The suspect indicated he was armed but didn’t show a weapon, police said.

Police said when the suspect confronted the 32-year-old male store clerk and demanded money, the clerk fired a weapon at the suspect.

The suspect then fled westbound from the station, troopers said. It’s not known whether he was shot or not. The store employee wasn’t hurt.

I guess he was another “finger gun” robber.

Thanks to Chief Tango for the links, as usual.

‘Not Mr. Mullins’? Hey – mom, dad, you can drop the denial any time. Yo’ boy was a thug. He has paid for being in the wrong occupation.

I live on hayden ave, David died in my backyard. He may not have been a great person but one thing the news didnt mention was that he has 3 amazing kids who now have to live in a foster home. Maybe instead of hating the robbers you should start hating the government for making us live in a world where you have to steal and rob to provide for your family
