Thursday morning feel good stories

| December 18, 2014

Chief Tango sends us the arduous research for his latest stories of triumph of men over the creatures who hunt us. The first (also sent to us by Ty) is from North Carolina;

Police say they found and arrested 22-year-old Carlos Delcid on Tuesday night. His brother, 18-year-old Isai Robert Delcid, was shot by the resident’s grandson, according to police.

“They heard some noises, saw an individual at the back of the residence trying to come into their house,” said Lt. Eric Brady of Charlotte Mecklenburg Police.

Brady said when officers first arrived on the scene they found a man, later identified as Isai Delcid, dead at the back of the home.

Police say the brothers were reportedly trying to break into the home when a 14-year-old, who was visiting his grandmother, shot Isai Delcid. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The next is from New Mexico;

Albuquerque police said the man tried to break into two homes.

The man inside the first home didn’t want to talk on camera but said his dog woke him up when the burglar was trying to break in. Police said he gave up on that house.

Instead of getting away with some loot, the would-be burglar was shot and killed by the homeowner in the second house.

The next story is from Pennsylvania;

Authorities are trying to determine whether a Pittsburgh-area homeowner will face criminal charges for fatally shooting a man who was allegedly stealing downspouts of his house.

Allegheny County detectives aren’t identifying the 62-year-old North Braddock homeowner. The county medical examiner says that 44-year-old Alan Lamont White, of Wilkinsburg, died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police say White didn’t flee after the homeowner dialed 911 around 1 a.m. Tuesday and then confronted White with a gun. Instead, they say, White moved toward the homeowner before the homeowner fired.

From Indiana;

The caller said they fired shots at 42-year-old Jeffery Frakes as he was trying to enter their home on State Road 59.

Earlier in the day, the same 911 caller reported Frakes entered their home and broke items inside.

According to the caller, Frakes had just been released from the Clay County Jail on December 14th, where he was serving a sentence for domestic violence against the 911 caller.

The resident of the home said Frakes entered the home and threatened to kill them. That is when the 911 caller began firing shots at Frakes with a handgun.
