Tuesday morning feel good story
Once again, Chief Tango sends us our feel good story and this time it comes from Louisiana;
Police say Gerald Yager armed himself with a handgun after 29-year-old Daniel Smalley banged and kicked on both the front and back doors of Yager’s home.
After Smalley forced his way in through the back door, police say Yager “fired numerous times,” striking Smalley once in the upper body.
Police say Yager, who sports a Shooters USA bumper sticker on his car that says, “Crime control, not gun control,” was detained at the scene of the crime and later taken to Shreveport Police headquarters for interviews with detectives.

“Detained”?
I wasn’t sure where to put this and since this thread has but one comment and is focused, as alawys, on citizen self protection, I chose this spot.
The libs have their remedy for school shootings. It’s been installed in a Massachusetts school for some untold sum. The system detects the first gun shot, automatically notifies law enforcement, signals the shooter’s location, and has other bells and whistles that will make everyone safe. Well, everyone except those being shot while the police are on their way. No word on what the system will do if multiple shots are detected throughout a building, the shooter is moving quickly, or how safe the kids will be if the shooter chooses a school assembly or crowded cafeteria for his rampage. And there is no word on a VA Tech copycat who takes care of escape and access points beforehand, using a few chains and a padlock. No word, for that matter, on how effective the integrated system will be if a single bomb is used or multiple bombs are detonated simultaneously. Success seems to depend upon the readiness of the school administrators and support staff to implement the response and action plan, as well as the shooter moving slowly or not at all. Money and technology fix everything. Good luck to the school. I’m sure everyone feels safer.
“Police say Yager, who sports a Shooters USA bumper sticker on his car that says, “Crime control, not gun control,” was detained at the scene of the crime and later taken to Shreveport Police headquarters for interviews with detectives.”
I see what they did there. The reporter and/or editor sound like Progressive (regressive) Libtards, who believe that guns and (self) defense belong in the hands of “Teh Only Ones”.
They injected a totally irrelevant item (the bumper sticker) into the story, and twisted the usual after-the-fact Q&A, into sounding like the homeowner is an out-of-control gun nut and is the one that ought to be arrested, not the door breaker.
And really? Multiple shots, and only one hit? ANd the perp lives? Sounds like more range time needed.
ANd the world is NOT a more peaceful place . . beginning now.
If I saw a gun rights/gun owner sticker on someone’s house or car, I’d take it as fair warning. That’s what mine are for. Sort of like ‘Enter at Your Own Risk’ ….. Guess Yager was too stupid to take the hint
