Tuesday morning feel good story

The first feel good story comes from Ohio;

[Deputy Chief Paul] Humphries said the homeowner was sleeping in his bedroom when he heard someone enter the home.

The homeowner pulled a gun and tried to fire it at an adult intruder as he entered the bedroom, but the magazine wasn’t in the gun, so it wouldn’t fire, Humphries said.

Humphries said the startled intruder fled out the front door, while the homeowner ran to get the handgun’s magazine from the garage, then ran out the kitchen door.

When the homeowner ran out a kitchen door with the gun, he found the two teens in the yard, whom Humphries said had not entered the home.

The homeowner fired, hitting one teen through the buttocks, Humphries said. The teens ran away from the scene.

Officers followed a blood trail to East Way, where they found the wounded teen.

The next story is from Colorado;

A burglary Saturday at a residence on the 2600 block of Aster Street was thwarted when the homeowner shot at the intruder at 5:33 a.m.

When a police officer arrived, he was told by the homeowner about the incident.

The homeowner did not know if the intruder was hit but did tell police the suspect — about 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing a black or dark hoodie with his face covered — left the scene running north on Aster Street.

After investigating the scene, police did not locate the suspect nor determine if the suspect had in fact been hit by the shot.

The lesson here is to NOT keep your weapon by your bed and the magazine in the frikkin’ garage.

That’s the law in some places. A pistol cannot be stored with a magazine in it and in some cases the magazine must be located in a separate room.

This is why magazine disconnects are very bad things… without a magazine in the gun, it is a very awkward too-short club. One shot beats the hell out of no shots. Plus you usually improve the trigger pull when its removed.
