Saturday morning feel good story
Chief Tango sends us our feel good stories for this morning. The first is from Alabama where an armed fellow forced his way into a woman’s home thinking she was going to be easy pickings;
According to Autauga County Chief Deputy Sheriff Joe Sedinger, the suspect was armed with a knife when he tried to break into the home on County Road 81. Sedinger said the female homeowner feared for her safety, and for that of her niece, when she fired several shots at the intruder.
Responding officers found the man, and he was pronounced dead on the scene shortly after 12:30 a.m.
The second story is from Oklahoma where Steven Ferguson, who is wheelchair-bound saw a strange man in his backyard. Steven went and got his gun just in time for the fellow to draw his own gun, but Steven beat him to the draw;
“I’m not that quick. I’m in a wheelchair. He could’ve killed me. He could’ve gotten anything he wanted,” said Ferguson who was working in his sunroom across the street from Veteran’s Park.
“Before he flagged me, that’s when I drew and fired, that was when he was pulling his gun up,” said Ferguson.
Steven beat the other gunman to the draw. He has a modified holster on his wheelchair. He says it’s the first time he’s shot at somebody.
“It’s my property. I don’t like anybody standing on my property without my permission,” added Ferguson.
Steven doesn’t think he hit the fellow, but he also doesn’t think he’ll be back.

The first thing that popped in my head as I read the part about the wheelchair bound home owner was Clint in “Gran Torino” – “Get offa my lawn!”
