Monday morning feel good story
UpNorth and Wayne send us our feel good story this Monday morning, from Killeen, Texas, Fort Hood’s bedroom. Man’s best friend gave a warning;
The preliminary investigation revealed that resident of the home was woken up out of his sleep by his dog barking and saw someone coming through his bedroom window. He fired one shot then immediately called police.
When police arrived, they found 32 year-old Terry Lee Moon Jr., lying in the backyard of the one-story home with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to Carl R. Darnell Army Medical Center in critical condition where he later died.
The resident of the home was taken to the Killeen City Jail following the incident. After the case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office the resident was released and no charges were filed.

Spending the night in jail wouldn’t make me feel very good. Texas is supposed to be better about that kind of thing…
Apparently not in Bell County, Texas…
If only the wounded guy had fallen across the window sill, rather than outside onto the lawn.
Is it common practice in Texas to immediately take the shooter to jail like this and then release him/her or was it because the neer-do-well fell outside the house onto the lawn?
Killeen PD are jerks. Notice that the Bell County DA released without charges, but the KPD are kind of jaded from dealing with so many drunk and disorderly Joes and Dependas…
YMMV
I say, good shootin’ Tex!
Was the back yard OK?
I say the guy did right by blasting the waste of oxygen as he was coming through the window, because, as I have said many times, if a bad guy thinks it’s worth it to enter a home where a dog is, then they are definitely serious about doing harm and they need to be dealt with immediately. Don’t let them get any advantage at all, just take them deep from jump street.
But, that’s just me.
LEO : “sir why did you shoot the intruder nine times?”
Home Owner: “because my magazine doesn’t hold ten rounds”
please update your story.. this was a sad miss stake it was his brother that lived there.
