Friday feel good story
Sorry, I’ve been on the road to and from Bethesda today, so I’m behind on email and I’m catching up. But Hack Stone sends this short, but grin-generating story about a 50-year-old who turned the tables on some teens in Detroit;
A 50-year-old man sitting in his car was allegedly approached by four men who brandished a gun and demanded he get out of the car. Before he could get out of the car, shots were fired.
What they didn’t know is the intended victim had his own gun.
He opened fire on them, killing one of the young men, a 17-year-old. The other suspects ran from the scene.
Police say the 50-year-old man, who was uninjured, has a permit to carry the weapon.
If that doesn’t warm the cockles of your black little hearts today, I don’t know what will.

Yeah, the shots fired came from one or more of the bad guys. The good guy returned fire and didn’t miss. I’m guessing that he didn’t point his weapon in the general vicinity of his target while turning it sideways in one hand and firing wildly. I’m also guessing the bad guy looked a tad perplexed as he fell to the ground saying, “Dag.”
Detroit? This is my surprised face.
I work for Dish, and do a lot of installs in Detroit. Yeah, it’s just…lovely.
Smell a lawsuit coming…dude get the heck out of Detoilet – place hit rock bottom decades ago and has been digging ever since.
Ryan, yeah, lovely, much like Cologne, Germany was lovely in late 1945. Been there, I do believe there are more burnt-out houses standing than inhabitable houses.
@4, yeah, everything’s overgrown as far as vegetation, and 3/4 of the houses are abandoned/burned out/gang tagged.
Of course, they all have their 60″ flatscreens and x-boxes.

This yet another feel good story. I give extra points since it seems that the intended victim was able to gain control of one of the robbers weapons to stop this redistribution of wealth.

City trying to consolidate and downsize, by converting large tracts of urban decay to farmland. Problem is tearing up city scape is a costly, complicated, and time consuming endeavor. Also who wants to farm in Detoilet? Could dig up alot of bodies.
Hmm. No mention of the race of attackers and victim. Dollars to donuts it was a black on white crime, hence, no coverage.
Had it been white on black, it would be non-stop coverage, whining and wringing of hands. Although white on black crime is statistically much lower than vice versa.
If the race of the attackers is finally brought out, look for “asian youths” (muslim) or “disadvantaged youth” (black) “product of a broken home and unfair country” (black)
If it is “neo-nazi, inbred, white power bitter clinger” that is quite obviously white.
