Four more dead in insider attacks

Fox News reports that three more incidents of green-on-blue attacks happened in the last three days which left eight NATO troops dead. In all three incidents, the attackers wore Afghanistan military or police uniforms. In the latest, one coward in an Afghan police uniform killed four US troops and then escaped;

Afghan officials said the checkpoint in Zabul province’s Mizan district first came under attack from insurgents sometime around midnight. American forces came to help the Afghan police respond to the attack, said Ghulam Gilani, the deputy police chief of the province.

It was not clear if some of the Afghan police turned on their American helpers in the middle of the battle with the insurgents, or afterward, or were somehow forced into attacking the American troops by the insurgents, Gilani said.

“The checkpoint was attacked last night. Then the police started fighting with the Americans. Whether they attacked the Americans willingly we don’t know,” Gilani said.

The Taliban denied that the attacker was one of theirs, but we know that either way, the Taliban would lie;

“But they are Afghans and they know that Americans are our enemy,” [Taliban spokesman Qari Yousef Ahmadi] told The Associated Press.

Of course, Fox wants to tie the attack to the stupid video, but that wouldn’t explain the scores of other attacks that have happened this year.

The word on the street is that the Taliban who attacked Camp Bastion on Friday were also wearing American uniforms and dressed like SOF guys.
