I had to punch out, I can’t even listen to him.
A civilian got shot in the head by a tear gas cannister from 15 feet away and has damage to the speech center of his brain, THEN had a flashbang thrown into the crowd of people that rushed to support him. At a minimum this is shitty riot work by police. And you think people might be happier about this situation if they knew he was sort of a d-bag in the Marine Corps?
What the fuck kind of liberty and freedom loving “conservatives” are you?
No a person gets hurt from doing stupid. If you are upset about they way that you are treated perhaps you should look at who you hang out with and what they do.
They would know that if he was a problem in the Marines that he would be causing problems with the Police. He is a token Veteran that the OWS is so desperate for to claim legitimacy.
Cops don’t have accountability here, apparently. So long as they’re going after your political enemies, at least.
Put your phony patriotism away, creeps.
Yea based off of what? The fact that they would not let you camp out in a public park?
Yea your talking to a group that has a good portion of us that have been deployed, yep total phony patriotism right there.
Has anyone actually confirmed this tard was hit by a tear gas canister and not some blunt object poorly thrown by his limp wristed brethren?
Redacted, how dare you ask such a blasphemous question, OWS has decreed that we are all Scott Olsen and need to accept his his word over anything to the contrary.
(I detect sarcasm:D) Scott Olsen=FAIL. Couldn’t even finish his enlistment.
Hmmm, I guess our support of Jose Guerena’s family doesn’t count for anything. I wonder if anon even knows who Guerena is… Of course maybe it is because we don’t blindly support the token veteran they choose to support.
#4 I guess you support the same lack of accountability thing for protesters hey?
Stick it up your ass nameless
nope couldn’t do it. Too much knob polishing. too much bullshit.
@2: generally I don’t like shitbags, and honestly those were not “projectiles” of tear gas. The arc is too slow, and the actual canisters shown are more of the “smoke grenade” variety, which most certainly can not be launched. Also the idea of a flash-bang actually doing harm is so laughable that it’s a wonder you could write that.
@4: “phoney patriotism”? You know if you’d met me just a few years ago you might’ve ended up in the hospital if you’d said that to me. But as it stands I’m a much nicer guy now. why weren’t the Portestors held accountable? They’ve cost the tax payers a lot of dough. For that matter why aren’t the pussified politicians held accountable for i dunno NOT BALANCING THEIR GOD DAMNED CHECK BOOK?!?!? just a thought.
I love how the moron who wrote this post thinks Olsen deserved physical harm for associating with OWS, but gets up in arms because some dude thought it was a good idea to confront the police with an AR-15 and then got killed.
I did? Please point that out? I promise you took it out of context. This considering the violent actions that cause harm and vandalism to business in the Oakland area. Also there is no proof that Olsen was injured by the police.
Oh and I can’t wonder how someone can be upset about police doing a raid on the wrong house, not identify themselves and kill the home owner who thinks that a robber trying to break in and cause his family harm.
Bet that neck brace the little geek is wearing is a stage prop.
You’re probably right Red. We never discharge anyone in a soft collar anymore. It’s no longer standard of care.
A couple of things. Wasn’t he texting as he was carried out or am I remembering it wrong? Second, does anyone wonder if his being picked up and carried out instead of them realizing something went sideways and getting help from the trained sort might’ve lead to any damage that actually exists?
Would this story have gained any traction at all if it weren’t a vet of any sort?
Also, am I bad person for hearing the line “Duck faster next time” from UT2k4 every time I hear about this guy?
@12: No one said he deserved physical harm. The “dude” that confronted police with an AR didn’t know it was the police, because they never said anything until it was too late. He was protecting his home and family instead of knowingly standing in full confrontational mode directly in front of police that gave him a lawful order to move.
There is no proof that it was a CS canister fired by the police that hit Olsen in the knob, yet you assume that it was, because some chuckleheads told you it was. It could very well have been an errantly thrown object by one of the protesters that didn’t make it to the police line and hit Olsen instead. Did that ever enter your thinking? No? Why not?
This guy reminds me of a puppy that just got tapped with a rolled up newspaper. The screaming and yelping would make you think he was being beaten with a baseball bat.
And strange how Ed never questioned his discharge, pot growing hobbies, etc…
Anon–play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
oh…and never mind the d-bag#1 @ 9 sec who appears to be throwing something back at the police. He probably shanked it and hit d-bag 2 (SO) in his iphone, which recoiled into his own head.
“There is no proof that it was a CS canister fired by the police”. Exactly, OT. I’ve looked and looked, and have yet to see any video that shows Olsen getting hit by any kind of projectile. NO evidence of that at all. Nowhere does one see the “projectile” sputtering, leaving a smoke trail and skittering off on the ground after coming in contact with Olsen’s melon.
The lack of said “trail” gives more credence to the idea that Olsen was hit by something that doesn’t leave any trail, like a bottle thrown by one of his limp-wristed brethren.
And, Dead Man gets it exactly right in #16, he WAS texting as he lay near death on his stretcher, ok that was sarcasm, and if he did, indeed, get some kind of head injury, picking him up and carrying him away would only add to the injure.
And, addressing FatED and the rest of the LSDNBC line-up, Pat on Beck’s show had a great line this a.m. “MSNBC has an audience of 1’s”.
Everyone always blames the cops when shit like this happens. Oh, no… a grandma was pepper sprayed! Oh, no… a cop slammed a door on a child’s hand! Oh, no… a douchebag got butt hurt by a tear gas grenade!
What people don’t realize is that the grandma was fighting with the police like the rest of the rioters. What people don’t realize is that the little kid’s mother was pushing them into the open door to force the cops not to close it. What people don’t realize is that the douchebag was already butt hurt from one too many… well, nevermind.
If you do illegal shit and/or don’t listen to the cops, you will get the shit kicked out of you by a cop. If you don’t do illegal shit and/or listen to the cops, you will not get the shit kicked out of you by a cop. Black and white, right there.
So, the moral of this story is:
IF YOU DON’T WANT TO GET THE SHIT KICKED OUT OF YOU DON’T DO ILLEGAL SHIT AND LISTEN TO THE COPS!
I was going to just be nice and read the comments and laugh at the idiocy but the comment concerning Jose Guerena really chaps my ass.
Jose Guerena was a man who thought he was protecting his home and family from armed criminals and in all likely hood didnt even know that the men at his door were police. Shots were fired (some reports even say the police shot through the exterior of the house) because some damn fool cop fell on his ass and everyone ASSUMED he was shot. Guerena was allowed to die from his wounds because the police wouldnt allow EMS into the area to treat him even though it was known that the suspect was down and not moving.
Scott Olsen was told to leave the area and instead of leaving and staying gone he decided to come back and make an ass of himself. His very own actions caused his injury. Whether he was injured by a police officer or by one of the OWS rabble that was there remains to be seen. Scott Olsen openly defied the police and paid the price.
To compare these two scenarios is like comparing apples to horseshit.
The trolletariat are out early this morning. And, shucky darns, equating two unequatable events.
Most folks have seen the video of Olsen. The video doesn’t show Olsen being struck by police. Yet Olsen has displayable injuries. In training, which Olsen may have taken, there is a technique of using moulage. From wikipedia: “Moulage is the art of applying mock injuries for the purpose of training Emergency Response Teams and other medical and military personnel.” We’ve seen OWS fake the funk in claiming injury from police, but deny rapes, murder, assualts, theft and sexual harrassment – not real a model of integrity. And we also know from OWS that they actively seek martyrs and to inflame the environment to such a degree as to guarantee martyrs. When the police don’t respond and create a Hero of the Revolution, you make one. And, the trolletariat knows this, but they are paid to troll anyway.
Guerena couldn’t have used moulage. Over 20 real entry wounds, unknown (to me) number of exit wounds, and the cops saying they fired over 70 times. Soooo… don’t see Guerena seeking to vilify the cops with his death – only to defend his family. Which he didn’t do, as there are no dead cops being buried. Hmmm. So Anonymous (to no one), and Leatherneck5821 (if you are in a fact a Marine), please argue yourself out of the hole you’ve dug for yourselves.
In regards to Jose Guerena, when I did an interview with the Columbia Journalism Review about the Olsen incident a few weeks ago, I asked the journalist why no one was writing about Guerena and she didn’t even know what I was talking about. it seems to me that anyone who has their knickers twisted over Olsen should be asking questions about Guerena. The only reason they’re not is the fact that it’s in Dupnik’s Pima County.
Remember we were lied to and told when Scott was going to need brain surgery?
Never happened.
Remember when we were told he couldn’t speak after he was injured?
He was texting friends right after it happened.
Now he has a neck injury?
His neck injury was likely caused by his IVAW buddies who stupidly moved this so-called trauma patient, parading him around like a rag doll for all the media to see.
This guy is a total fraud. IVAW is a total fraud. OWS is a total fraud.
T O T A L F R A U D.
They said he had a head injury. There was never any mention of a neck injury in the ensuing weeks. This is impeachment by omission. That means you are a liar because you never mentioned it before. Cops are guilty of this all the time for failing to put important facts in their report and then wanting to testify about them. The neck brace is a prop from his lawyer. Unethical lawyers stock them by the case. Many years ago I made a complete asshole of myself after exploding at a salesman who tried to sell me a case of foam braces. It was every expletive I knew at the top of my voice. My partners at the time were pretty shocked, even the one who later asked me if the guy left any samples behind.
#27 The funny thing is, if he wants to pursue the neck injury thing, there’s plenty of video evidence of the gibbering masses carting his ass off. Adds more fuel to the fire that his own side caused his injuries. Even before I learned a bit of first aid, I knew that you only moved a victim if it was absolutely necessary to do so.
“You only moved a victim if it was absolutely necessary to do so”. And, especially in the case of a head/neck injury, only after the head and neck have been immobilized. Splint above and below, in the case of the head, just below.
But the Occutards are the exact opposite of someone with “deep pockets”, so Olsen is trolling for a lawsuit, and preferably for him, a settlement.
I’d like to see him with one of those doggie lampshade type collars on. That would be scream.
On the bright side, appearing on that douches show guarantee’s that nobody saw him. He just jumped the shark and I hope he enjoys his 15 min of fame.
