Feds mum on how 2 felons bought guns

| July 25, 2011

Fox News reports that court records they reviewed indicate that two of the indicted purchasers of guns in the “Fast and Furious” program were felons who should have been prevented from buying firearms when the dealer checked on their eligibility;

Congressional and law-enforcement sources say the situation suggests the FBI, which operates the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, knowingly allowed the purchases to go forward after consulting with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which initiated Operation Fast and Furious.

Jacob Wayne Chambers and Sean Christopher Stewart purchased more than 300 guns during the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives failed arms trafficking tracking program.

When asked about the breakdown, Stephen Fischer, a spokesman for the [National Instant Criminal Background Check System, NICS], said the FBI had no comment. However, an ATF agent who worked on the Fast and Furious investigation, told Fox News that NICS officials called the ATF in Phoenix whenever their suspects tried to buy a gun. That conversation typically led to a green light for the buyers, when it should have stopped them.

I wouldn’t think that it’s legal to circumvent Federal law for intelligence purposes, no matter who you are.

Hmm – somebody smart enough to try and avoid giving the perps the Delorean Defense. Won’t work unless they deal.

Wonder how many convictions and prosecutions “Fast & Furious” and its State Department counterpart will blow up this year alone?

Wait…wait…wait…. Didn’t the Feds demand that the Gun Dealers perform these illegal strawman acts??? now their trying to swirl it around like the Gun Dealers should have known?? huh?

And, now the BATFE will drag the Feeb’s into their fustercluck.
The longer this goes on, the higher it looks like it goes.

As I had mentioned elsewhere, there is no possibility that the President and Attorney General did NOT know of these operations, and did not sign off on them.

These sorts of operations are not indicative of a rogue agency or agencies. They are indicative of a directed operation, designed and signed off on the the very top.

All of this, both F&F, and a newly discovered similar operation running out of Florida, were designed from the outset as a way to manufacture evidence to support more and stronger anti-gun laws, and to increase the power of the Executive branch, the DOJ and the BATFE while eroding the citizen’s rights under the 2nd amendment.

@4 who do you want kicked out of the country for this Tim? LOL!!!

Rumor has it that we were trying to run the weapons to fight the FARC and get hostages released from some country. I’m sure that this is a non-issue.

the punchline of my sarcasm was chopped off.

(offer up sacrifical military officer)

Tim: I thought initially that this was an operation of incompetence, that some paper screw-up snowballed, but lately I’ve begun to wonder. This president has certainly read Machiavelli, and taken his lessons to heart.

OG: What does deportation have anything to do with what Tim said? keep up, the bus stops for no one, and the short bus won’t be along for a few days.

F&F was designed, at least in part, to make Shrillary’s comments that the cartels were being armed solely by American citizens, letting their guns walk to Meh-hee-ko, come true. And the added bonus of being able to pass a whole bunch of new gun laws when it was discovered that, indeed, the cartels had gotten guns from the U.S. When Shrillary made her statement, and the Meh-hee-kan government put those guns on display, they couldn’t come up with the numbers of guns that came from the U.S. to match what they were claiming.

Obamagirl is just another leftist apologist for Islam. She’s using the tired old ad hominum attack method. She can’t logically & factually refute any of my comments from an earlier thread, so she’s resorting to trying to belittle me.

Alas, she just beclowns herself.

“under the radar”. Lovely how this president operates, eh?

BATF, DEA, now FBI roped into it all. So basically, if I take an oath to protect and serve and wear a badge, I’m somehow better than Don Corleone?

Someone ought to teach these crimefighter guys hara kiri as career option.

Doc Bailey

Well it would be important that those oaths be take seriously

#9 Agreed. The funny thing is the Cartels don’t need guns smuggled from US gun stores. I don’t think they could meet their requirements even if they were legally able to sell to them. Its just an excuse that Mexican government officialdom uses to deny their own citizens dupliciity or US political leaders use to dishonestly call for tougher gun laws.

Most of the military grade arms, are taken from Mexico’s own depots, or smuggled from other nations. How many US gun dealers sell grenades, antitank rockets, or mortars?
