How Crazy Joe murdered two US soldiers

| June 27, 2011

At first, I thought this was an article about Joe”Bite Me”Biden, but Stars & Stripes writer Bill Murphy tells the story about how Afghanistan officers ignored warnings about one Afghan policeman and he went on to murder two US troops and injure three others;

They had no way of knowing how apt a nickname that was, or how many people had warned that arming Crazy Joe and sending him out with U.S. troops would be a terrible, treacherous idea.

On Oct. 2, 2009, during the final hours of a three-day joint U.S.-Afghan mission, Crazy Joe sneaked up behind the U.S. soldiers who had trained him, trusted him and worked with him.

He opened fire on full automatic with his Hungarian-made AK-47.

[A] Stars and Stripes investigation reveals that in the case of Crazy Joe, Afghan officials had ample warning that he was a danger to American soldiers. They simply didn’t do anything about it.

Time to come home. All of our troops. Period.

So what’s the difference between Crazy Joe in Afghanistan and Maj. Nadal Hasan in Fort Hood, Texas?

Doesn’t matter where our troops are stationed. If we allow insane people into our squad bays with weapons, it’s not the war that kills our soldiers. It’s our policies.
