Four more pirates for trial
Jerry920 sends us a link to the report that Navy SEALs (I’m guessin’) took back an American oil tanker with no shots fired from four pirates off the coast of Oman yesterday;
Twenty-four crew members on the MV Guanabara took refuge in a protected part of the vessel after reporting they were under attack Saturday, roughly 328 nautical miles southeast of Duqm in southern Oman.
A special unit from the destroyer USS Bulkeley boarded the oil tanker Sunday and detained the suspected pirates, according to a news release from the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF). No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
I’m beginning to think that Somalis are using piracy as the new way to sidestep US immigration policy.

“I’m beginning to think that Somalis are using piracy as the new way to sidestep US immigration policy.” Yeah, maybe they all have jobs waiting for them, as cab drivers in Minneapolis?
The article states is vessel is owned by the Japanese, not Americans. Still, good that we aren’t just sitting around doing nothing. I’d like to see Congress issuing some Letters of Marque, though…
Hey, they’re trainable! You no be stoopid around those nice SEALs, they no keel your sorry a**! 🙂
Probably not SEALs, but the standard M1A1 boarding team of Masters-at-Arms and bosuns.
I would like to see them thrown overboard as shark chum as a message to all the others of what awaits them when they act like morons.
But, that’s just me.
I’m solidly with Trooper on this one, if they play, they should pay, immediately.
Speaking of the trial, I’ve got a suggestion for speeding it up: Just shoot the pirate in the head. If he survives, that means he is appealing the decision. Betcha can’t guess what the appeal process is.
#7 Cortillaen: eating Army food?
We can’t throw them overboard as shark chum! I mean, what did those poor sharks ever do to deserve such a nasty meal?
Nice thing about sharks, they ain’t to choosy. 🙂
A bit off topic. Obama just announced that the military can resume some of the trials down at guantanamo. He still won’t do 9/11, but at least the Cole may now get some justice.
