Voting in Chicago this year
Well, not just Chicago, but the whole state of Illinois has a different climate than most of the country during the election season. For example, the First Lady, Michelle Obama, was reportedly campaigning for her husband’s party while she stopped by to vote last week. According to the Chicago Board of Elections, no one has filed a complaint so they won’t be investigating.
The Green Party candidate for governor, the one most likely to draw votes away from the Democrat candidate, Pat Quinn, had his name spelled wrong on the ballot. Instead of Rich Whitney, the ballot names him as “Rich Whitey”, a sure turn-off for some voters. The misspelling is blamed on some unnamed employee at Dominion Voting Systems.
Absentee voting in Illinois got harder this year when 35 counties decided they’d ignore the MOVE Act and sent their ballots late. This essentially disenfranchised most of the military voters in Illinois. But, not to worry, Investors Business Daily reports that not all absentees will miss out on their voting experience;
Meanwhile, the Chicago Board of Elections hand-delivers ballots to inmates in Cook County Jail. The board doesn’t even wait for the inmates to apply — it brings the applications with the ballots! More than 2,600 inmates have cast ballots — strikingly similar to the 2,600 soldiers who will likely not receive a ballot for Tuesday’s election.
Yes, Chicago is more concerned about the votes of criminals than they seem to be about the votes of the folks who keep us all safe enough to vote.

Category: Liberals suck, Military issues
Who would have thought that a political party that in your face passed laws in opposition to the American people would be involved in voter fraud when it is evident they are going to lose the election.
Go figure. Chicago would sign up space aliens if they could find them. I imagine area 51 is closed even to Chicago. Those would be dead space aliens, no matter they can fix that.
Way to propagate false information.
1) All the ballots (paper and electronic) listed the candidate(s) as “Rich Whitney, Don W. Crawford” you know, seeing as how this is a Gov/Lt. Gov race… there are 2 names. It was only on the electronic ballots that the REVIEW screen listed R. Whitey, D. Crawford.
Not Rich Whitey- the AP already corrected their reporting of this, will you?
2) All machines were replaced once the issue was found.
Keep up the poor work!
And another dark star wanders through our universe…
“CHICAGO (AP) 11:08 am — An Illinois gubernatorial candidate’s name was mistakenly listed as “R. Whitey” instead of Rich Whitney on thousands of Chicago electronic-voting machines and will be corrected, elections officials said Thursday.
Chicago elections board Chairman Langdon Neal said crews will work overtime to reprogram and retest 530 machines being used for early voting and an additional 4,200 destined for the Nov. 2 election. The mistake in the Green Party candidate’s name appears on a review screen that allows voters to double-check their selections and not on the screen where the vote is registered. It also is not on paper ballots, Neal said.”
There, are you happy Whatever?
While it may satify your own myopic view of the central issue to have this clarification, it doesn’t for anyone with an ounce of common sense.
Whatever
So they fixed a misspelling….deployed soldiers still don’t have ballots and jailbirds do, which one is more important?
Come on, Old Tanker, you know the answer to that. Whatever could give a rat’s ass that the military is disenfranchised, as long as the felons and the dead can vote D.
There has GOT to be something We the People can do about this. This is a stain on our National Honor.
This isn’t my realm, but I am curious about it. In regards to the ballots being hand delivered to the inmates, but not being sent before deadline to deployed troops, may I ask if this is incompetency, ignorance, bureucratic oversight or a slick conspiracy? Perhaps all of the above? It is rather a sad state of affairs, but at what level does it start?
Sorry, I was sure I had typed “bureaucratic”.
I’m surprised that you are surprised about stuff like this going on in Illinois. Illinois is mob heaven. I would be surprised if it wasn’t like this. It would be a pleasant surprise.
