ICE agent unlikely to face charges for shooting

The New York Times, reporting sources familiar with the investigation into the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, reports that charges are becoming less likely. Jonathan Ross, the agent who shot Good, is not out of the woods depending on which way the investigation progresses. The FBI took over the case from local officials and looked into Ross’ action, the weapon he used, and other evidence from the incident.

From New York Post.

The ICE agent who fatally shot protester Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis is unlikely to face criminal charges — as the Justice Department is not expected to open a civil rights probe into the deadly ordeal, according to a report.

Federal investigators assigned to probe last week’s fatal encounter are looking increasingly less likely to charge the agent, Jonathan Ross, after he opened fire on the 37-year-old, the New York Times reported, citing sources familiar with the investigation.

The decision could change, however, as the investigation unfolds, the sources said.

FBI investigators, who have taken over the case from local authorities, said their review of the fatal shooting includes analyzing Ross’ conduct and key physical evidence — including the handgun involved.

Meanwhile, the DOJ’s civil rights division has so far declined to look at whether Ross, a President Trump-supporting war veteran, potentially violated the protester’s civil rights when he fired three shots at her.

The Trump administration, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, quickly branded Good a “domestic terrorist” — arguing that the ICE agent only fired the fatal shots in self-defense after the alleged agitator struck him with her vehicle.

As part of the investigation, the feds are said to be zeroing in on Good’s links to anti-ICE activist groups protesting the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

The Justice Department plans to examine the actions of numerous activists who took part in apparent neighborhood watch activities in the lead-up to Good’s death.

It comes as massive protests continue in Minneapolis and throughout the country in the wake of Good’s death.

What the hell does “President Trump supporting war veteran” have ANYTHING to do with the incident? What it does it subliminally signal that he acted under direct orders from Trump and he agrees with all that Trump is doing. Eat a bag of dicks, Richard Polina and Emily Crane.

The MSM, collectively, is the outreach / PR arm of the Communist Democratic Party.

Everything they publish is in support of the Party’s goals.

He should be awarded with a War Bonnet by Minnesota for preventing additional crimes by that Missouri vagrant and the she-bitch accomplice.

Has anyone ever determined who the father of the lesbian child is? Seems like he ought to have some say in the custody matters. Ah, Hell, who knows, probably depends on the state where the child is domiciled.

She’s never returning to Missoura, that’s all that matters.

Baby Daddy is dead from a drug over dose. The family has gone to great lengths to try to hide that.

Now if you like irony, the mom fighting against the administration trying to prevent drug over doses like the one that killed her baby daddy ex-husband is right up there with King Duncan telling Macbeth that he trusts him.

The father of the six year old died by suicide a few years ago. The custody of the child should now go to blood relatives of the child unless certain legal filings had been completed. I pray the child is not left with the wife who shouted, Drive Baby Drive just before her wife’s head exploded. I wouldn’t think that to be in the child’s best interest. The other two children, as I understand it, are already in the custody of the father and had been for some time. I pray peace for all involved. However, that prayer is seriously challenging my faith.

That little boy totally got his mother killed.
But why did he call her ” Baby ” ? 🤔

The liberals got their “martyr”. It’s a damn shame they don’t understand what they actually had was an offering to their political god. They sacrificed that woman, plain and simple. And they intend to do it again.

I have never seen a neighborhood watch blast horns, whistles and profanity at Federal Agents enforcing the law. Nor seen them block the street with a vehicle, try to run an agent over or help criminals hide from the police. Are they some kind of retarded neighborhood watch? Because they need some serious retraining.

To be clear, the FBI didn’t take over any investigation. They have primary jurisdiction on any federal officer involved shooting.

What happened was they had some agreement with the MN BCA (the state’s bureau of investigation, which looks into state OISs). That agreement has been rescinded. The state and locals aren’t entitled to anything. Personally, I think the more eyes that look into this, the more it will be proven to be justified. With how the state/local authorities have shown a very real bias against the agent involved (to the point of slander), I can see why the feds circled the wagons.

The state has no jurisdiction over a federal officer within the course and scope of his duties.

I would say that if the City and state doesn’t want to cooperate with the Feds, no reason for the Feds to cooperate with them. They started the pissing match, now they reap what they sow.

I’ll mourn the ICE ‘mom’ when Dems mourn Ashli Babbitt…
so, in other words never.

Agree, and that will never happen.

I think it’s important for us ALL to remember the way we felt the day Charlie Kirk was murdered. The anger we felt at the celebrations of his demise. The hurt we may still feel that his wife and child are widowed and orphaned. I wish I could lead or motivate others to feel that even though the majority of us know that Ms. Good made a series of bad decisions that lead to her demise that she was still human. Someone loved her, someone misses her. There is so much division and hatred. We veterans, we know pain. We know struggle, we know separation. We also know pride, patriotism, valor, honor and integrity. The majority of us know that America, it’s true principles, is probably the last great hope for the freedom of mankind. We are leaders, regardless of our rank. We hold ourselves to a standard most civilians just don’t understand. I hope we remember, regardless of our feelings to be better than those seeking the destruction of our way of life. We Are Better.

I apologize for my rant. Ive been feeling alot lately and I just wanted to get that thought out. You may proceed now to roast me as desired and to taste.

I don’t see any celebration here. More like trying to hold someone accountable for attempting to run a federal agent over with an SUV, as opposed to placing the blame with the man who was trying to protect all of us.

While most everything you wrote is true, the consequences are at the feet of the deceased who made poor life choices, culminating in her death. We should all remember that before we make such choices. It is difficult for me to mourn someone whose last act on Earth was trying to harm another person enforcing the law.

The false analogy to Charlie Kirk is merely that. While Kirk was involved in politics he was murdered for peaceably expressing his beliefs, not for trying to kill or harm another human. This puts him in a very different category to me.

Yeah, I know there’s no celebration here. I was just ranting and didn’t want to put it on social media outlets. I was just putting words down.

I wish there was some way to charge the people in the organizations who trained Good to actively interfere with law enforcement and to use a motor vehicle as part of that. They are the ones who put her into a dangerous situation, coached her to antagonize and push the agents to respond. In such a situation the vehicle begins to be seen as a weapon, with the results being her death. This is what these anti-ICE, progressive/leftist whatever-you-wanna-call-em groups wanted. They wanted an incident. They trained Good and others to provoke an incident., and they got it. In a better world there would be a way to charge the leaders of these groups with causing her death.

As a conservative, the only thing relevant to judging Ross’s actions is the one second in which he had time to assess if that car was coming toward him or not, and, if so, was it a threat. And, if so, how to respond: 1) threat to him, jump or 2) threat to others, put it down with lethal force. The “domestic terrorist” claim is as dumb and unhelpful as is the “she was murdered” rhetoric.

Personal opinions: 1) she was probably trying to leave, not hit him, but that, too, is irrelevant to his one second of decision space. He made an unfortunate but legally justifiable call. 2) the left wing crowds that are crying for this sort of protest behavior, training for it, paying for it, and enabling it through neglect should be exposed and hammered. Also, the cowardly state and local governments which are telling their cops not to work with ICE in violation of federal law should be brought up on federal charges immediately. ICE is challenged because they can’t work within a cordon of state or local LEOs who deter, prevent or arrest protesters who are flagrantly violating the law with impunity, thus allowing ICE to do their job within a protected bubble. FOP’s and LEOs need to speak out and call this BS behavior out.

I will pause here to let the Commissar tell me how I am wrong.

I think the phrase, “Drive Baby, Drive” will become the most determinate factor as to motive, state of mind. I do feel as though the wife should or could be held to be charged for Manslaughter at the least. Very hard to prove for a federal offense and not likely to be charged at the state level. If he heard revving and heard those words I dont think any reasonable officer would not believe they were at risk of death or great bodily injury.
