Some posts just write themselves;

On Saturday, Feb. 20, U.S. military fatalities in Afghanistan reached a total of 999. With the likelihood of the toll reaching 1,000 in the next day or two, peace grannies in New York City have planned a special commemorative vigil to be held the day AFTER the dreaded number has been announced.

It is requested that people be on the alert for a probable event on either Monday or Tuesday, Feb. 22 and 23. The day after the announcement, all New York City peace groups will meet at 5:30 p.m.

Found another interesting quote.

I hope and urge that such memorial events will mourn the human and economic cost of war, call for the troops to come home, and support transferring most of the funds being spent for death to meeting the urgent public needs of our own country, with some going to fund an Afghan-led reconstruction of the war-torn country.

I think some will turn out none because once it goes back it being about money than any talk of concern about the people of Afghanistan will be gone with these people.

In all honesty, is it just me or are these far Left anti-war groups pro-war for the other side rather than anti-war?

B Woodman

Hmmm, let’s try this.
Once they’ve reached their arbitrary MILESTONE, let’s hang a MILLSTONE around their necks.

Fred (#2), I think there is definitely an element of that with some of the far left types; it certainly is the case with…well, I don’t even want to speak his name again lest it encourage him to come back again, but I’m sure you know who I’m talking about. However, it is important to understand that the antiwar crowd is not of one mind, nor do they all speak with one voice, so I think it would be a mistake to engage in a collectivist type of thinking in which you assume that because something is true of one antiwar activist that the same is true for all of them.

Frankly Opinionated

Don’t know much about the Peace Grannies of New Yawk, but the image used here sure describes how I see the Anti-war bunch.
