Make Military Great Again!

| October 24, 2025

You talkin’ to me?

Fat Loser Generals Can Get Bent

Kurt Schlichter
I was one of those many, many retired officers who thought it was great when Pete Hegseth walked in and told an assembly of hundreds of generals and admirals that they suck and are fat, and they needed to unsuck and get unfat. Well, he was a little more polite than that, but not much. Of course, when their subordinates screw up in a massive way like these generals and admirals have over the last three decades, these generals and admirals would not have sugarcoated it. There would be no talk of feelings, no hugging. They would nuke their delinquent subordinates until they glowed. Some of the flag officers— the ones with a future in a military devoted to winning wars— appreciated this refreshing dose of toxic masculinity, but far too many of them channeled Margaret Dumont and are now scrambling to the press like little weasels to leak the anonymous equivalent of, “Oh, well, I never!”

It’s embarrassing: “Pete Hegseth was mean to us, and we aren’t going to be friends with him anymore! We’re totally gonna write a whole page on him in the slam book!”

No, really. The Washington Times got the scoop from these feminine cowards who donned the camouflage of anonymity to slag their boss instead of pulling their stars from their epaulets and slamming them on his desk. Nobody resigns anymore; they just gossip and talk smack behind people’s backs. It’s like Mean Girls with a camo color palette: The aggression is passive, and these generals and admirals have won the same number of wars as Regina, Karen, and Gretchen. The big difference is that what these flag officers can’t make happen is not “fetch” but “victory.”

Let’s review some of the achievements of the generals and admirals who are mad because Pete Hegseth doesn’t appreciate their awesome awesomeness:

  • No unequivocal victories in wars in over 30 years.
  • The Afghanistan rout and the utterly unnecessary death of 13 service members, plus the maiming of many more.
  • A Pentagon more concerned with promoting social pathologies than promoting hard-core warfighters.
  • The decline of the Navy in terms of numbers, focus, and seamanship, including ships regularly ramming into each other.
  • Flat-out discrimination against people of pallor who have penises.
  • DEI idiocy that took away training focus and undermined morale and unit cohesion.
  • The utter betrayal of our troops over COVID, including the dismissal of thousands of service members who refused to take a vaccine that everybody now concedes doesn’t do what it promised to do.
  • Recruiting numbers in the toilet because the normal young people who usually make up our military accurately sensed that they were despised and would be betrayed by their leadership.
  • A veteran community so disgusted by what happened to their beloved military that they began advising young people against enlisting.

Yeah, that’s quite a résumé. Very impressive. Never have so many been so arrogant with so few accomplishments and so many unmitigated failures.

To begin with, I never understood how any branch of the military could or would allow lower standards to infiltrate the ranks. That just makes no sense to me. Who initiated that directive? I realize the “going woke” agenda drives all of this stupid shit but to me this crap is nothing more than a direct attempt to weaken our military by the leftist commies.

nbcguyACTUAL

If we drop our standards any lower, there won’t be anyone left to draft for WWIII.

Quartermaster

Let them clutch their pearls. After the smelling salts have been applied, cashier them.

Forest Bondurant

I was under the impression that Pete Hegseth’s address to them was intended to be the smelling salts.

The DOD needs to cashier those who are being whiny little bitches and send them along holding the last rank they honorably served.

They have proven their uselessness.

Back in the day when the west had army forts, and the horse soldiers did there time and before they were cashiered, they had to wash their clothing using benzene. the term cashiered or benzened out were both used. I forgot if they also had to use the product on themselves.

jeff LPH 3 63-66

I forgot to add if it’s still used in today’s Army

So no more BSM’s for woke white females

Yeah, I know of a couple of less than competent female pilots who put F-14’s in the drink while attempting carrier landings. But what are your stories of girl-bosses wrecking gov’t stuff? We didn’t have this problem in my Army of my Army of combat soldiers, there were no females in charge of anything. In the 10th SFG(A) there was one female WAC, she somehow ended up as a secretary/admin clerk for the Group Commander. That happened after Col. S.F. Little was no longer our group C.O.

11B-Mailclerk

1986 OSUT Ft Benning. Our armorer was a very pregnant and -very- grumpy female SP4.

So four platoons of very tired 11B/C/H wannabees are lined up in lines for weapons return. Right in front of the armory entrance door. We have been waiting for over an hour for the armorer to show up.

Up waddles SP4+1 to get in.

Naturally, we do the usual when some NCO or officer wants to get through a crowd. Someone bellows, loudly:

“Make a hole!”

Two men moved a little. (It was very late, we were all zombie tired.) So someone, of course without thinking, said (very loudly indeed)

“Make a BIG hole!”

Men moved. She got in to the room. Arms were returned. We went about our business. Then to sleep.

An hour later, they -woke up the whole effing company-, because she had her BDU drawers in a wad over “Make a BIG hole”. They were threatening -court martial for harassment- over it. field grade Art15 for -everyone- if no one spoke up on who dunnit.

They smoked the living snot out of us for over an hour. When someone finally “admitted” it, we had a dozen Spartacus wannabees also admitted maybe they also said it.

One kid did pipe up “Drill Sergeant! The hole wasnt big enough for her, so he said make it big. If we did that for a Drill Sergeant and its OK, why not her? If not for her because girl, why is she in a fukkin Infantry unit? Its how we all talk Drill Sergeant!”

There were others. People were getting angry in a group way that isn’t pretty.

Eventually things calmed down. They wrote a couple company grade Article 15s which both men refused demanding JAG and a Court. When folks lined up all the shit she routinely said to -us- that we just ignored, there were threats to file on her right back. It all fizzled out as she found someone else to be mad at, and someone got better legal advice.

We were told to watch our mouths around that snake.

Women, other than as pilots, don’t belong in the combat formations of the army, period.

Skippy

My grammar SUCK’s 😄😛

Thunderstixx

My Grammar is the one that bought me all my Zildjian Cymbals throughout the first 30 years of my life.
I taught her well, she would always say “Zildjian Cymbals are the only serious choice”.
And she was right !!!

Skippy

I will say if I can get an old battle buddy to give me the ok.
I’ll post the story with the documentation
to prove it..
the bitch almost killed him.
From sheer incompetence

“A veteran community so disgusted by what happened to their beloved military”

That’s pretty much how I feel about it.
I pray Hegseth’s rather polite speech is taken seriously.

Thunderstixx

We’re not even a year into this term and the winning continues on a grand scale.
I have a feeling there will be a plethora of job seekers looking for something to do that is more comfortable than dealing with Secretary Hegseth.
They will no doubt lose their security clearances after being drummed out of the US Military.
Which means that they will be working in either the food service or janitorial industries.
Good…

Cynical Publius is a retired Army colonel and his reaction on X to an article about some whiny general’s negative reaction to the Hegseth remarks is less polite than COL Schlichter. In fact, it’s priceless.

Cynical Publius
@CynicalPublius
I am ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS over this article.

Look, if you are a serving general/admiral or senior civilian and you do not like the restoration of the warfighting ethos by SecWar, then your duty is to resign, step aside, and let some more junior steely-eyed killer take your place.

Running to the press to anonymously whine that Pete Hegseth hurt your feelings because he called you out on your failings is the mark of a COWARD.

If you are one of those generals/admirals/SESers/appointees and you engaged in this filthy behavior, you are a COWARD.

And if you wear the uniform, you should take it off RIGHT NOW because no matter what you did before now, the way you anonymously crawled on your belly to the press invalidated whatever bravery you may once have held.

YOU ARE ALL GUTLESS DEEP STATE COWARDS.

Resign, you filth.

Bravo, Cynical Publius!

I got it off Instapundit. I’m not allowed on X since 2020. If I get some time I’ll track it down,

“Have some more rope, General.”

Old tanker

I don’t fault them for the first 2 on the list. They are still subject to the whims and orders of the civilian administration. IE the pull out in Afghanistan was orchestrated by the biden admin against recommendations. Holding to an arbitrary timeline due to election promises over reality on the ground is not the Military’s fault.

The rest is definitely on their hands though.

IMO miley should have been fired and court marshalled once the news of his contacting the Chinese govt came out.

Not a Lawyer

Your list in the article was by no means complete.

Other examples of the flagging US Military:

(most prior to January 2025)

Sex Scandals

  • The Guam Sex videos Scandal
  • The Marines United Sex Scandal
  • Whatever Col. Brian Connelly doing with his men in that dog mask with S&M toys

This comes straight from the top where flag officer after flag officer has gone down for sexual misconduct.

Contracting and Integrity Scandals

  • Academy Cheating scandal after Cheating Scandal after Cheating Scandal
  • Record numbers of officers court martialed during the GWOT for corruption.
  • Record numbers of members revealing classified secrets.
  • Janet Yamanaka Mello stealing $110,000,000 from military families and getting only ten years in prison. Some how we are to believe that one person did all of that?
  • Fat Leonard among other Navy steering contracts
  • Military Dining Facilities running out of food
  • Deplorable conditions in privatized barracks and housing
  • The LCS program catastrophe
  • The insane cost of the F22 forcing it’s retirement before “older less capable jets”

I could go on and on but I think we get the idea. I am uncertain as to whatever happened to the idea of selfless service, taking responsibility for one’s actions and the soldiers under their command but it is long gone.

Prior Service (Ret)

I’m on board with holding senior leaders accountable for their professional appearance and standards, and for leading as war fighters. However, I worked around 2-, 3-, and 4 star GOs routinely for my last 7 years in service and I saw far more tubby O5s and O6s who weren’t going to become GOs than I did fat GOs. (Admittedly, I avoided the pentagon like that plague.)

I’m also for the ten memos Sec Hegseth has signed directing some much-needed policy reform. However, those first two points on appearance and warfighting don’t require more than two bullet points in a slide or memo. Definitely not a full up TV broadcast.

Having very publicly published his expectations and set a new (and welcome) tone with GO/FO leadership, I would like to see him move into, and publicize his defense acquisition reforms; National Strategy documents informing the new counter-drug operations, guidance for Theater Strategy for each COCOM, and other substantive things we need out of the Department. He’s got their attention, he’s clearing house; now transition smoothly into the role of policy-maker at the national strategic level, not worried about shaves and weight control. (While still holding accountable people who can’t measure up.)

rgr769

I have been a fan of Curt Schlicter for many years. He has been on talk radio for a number of years, as well as on the interwebs.

“…People of pallor who have penises….”

Hehehe ….. I got a rise out of that alliteration

Prior Service (Ret)

More properly known as the pallid penile.

Thunderstixx

You know, we were just given a very good Valor Friday with a small sample of the 442nd RCT by the powers that be here and then we see the crap weenies complaining about being asked to actually get ready to do some real military bearing in order to keep their jobs.
Makes me sick to death to know about this sh*& from these assholes.
When people thank me for my service I tell them it was an Honor and a privilege to serve because of the men of the 442nd RCT, the USMC and all the rest of the Band of Brothers and Sisters that have their names in the same book I do.
And that is why all of us give the same answer when asked if we would do it all over again…
“In a New York Minute.”
