APD: Bystander shoots robbery suspect in the leg

By KOB
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police officers responding to calls of an attempted robbery discovered the suspect had been shot in the leg Wednesday afternoon near the Uptown Transit Center.

Witnesses said that a man, identified as Justyn McDaniel, was standing near the drive-up ATM outside the Nusenda Credit Union at 6501 Indian School Rd NE. McDaniel began to harass the people in line, demanding money. When confronted by two Nusenda employees, McDaniel punched one in the face.

McDaniel then jumped on the hood of a woman’s vehicle and when she wouldn’t give him any money, he kicked in her windshield. A person in line behind the woman pulled a gun and fired it in the air to scare McDaniel away. When that did not work and McDaniel approached another customer, that person shot the suspect in the leg.

Officers arrested McDaniel and transported him to a hospital. McDaniel has been charged with three felony counts.

Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputy stabs and kills suspected impaired driver
The deputy reported that he stabbed a suspected impaired driver during a “physical altercation,” according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Author: Luisa Anderson, John Adams
VANCOUVER, Wash. — A deputy stabbed and killed a suspected impaired driver involved in a crash Wednesday night, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 10:58 p.m., deputies responded to a crash involving a vehicle that had hit two parked cars near Northeast 14th Court and Northeast Minnehaha Street, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies believed the male driver was impaired.

The man was arrested and taken to the Washington State Patrol Scale House on Interstate-5 in Ridgefield around 11:33 p.m. The facility has a room equipped with a breath alcohol analyzer, the sheriff’s office reported, as the sheriff’s office does not have its own machine for a breath test.

While in the breath test room, a deputy reported over the radio that he was “actively in a physical altercation” with the suspect. The deputy also reported that the man had tried to take his firearm, and said he stabbed him several times, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies tried to provide the man with emergency aid, and a Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue ambulance responded to the scale house. The man was pronounced dead around 12:39 a.m., the sheriff’s office said. His name has not yet been released.

The deputy, who hasn’t been publicly identified, was not injured. The deputy is on critical incident leave, which is standard protocol.

Security guard shoots man after confrontation near SW Portland preschool

by Matthew Nuttle & Christina Giardinelli
PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Police are investigating a shooting with one person injured near a preschool in Southwest Portland.

Officers were called out to investigate a reported shooting involving a security officer near 6600 Southwest Capitol Highway. Upon arrival they found a man with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the Fanno Medical Clinic, which is adjacent to the preschool.

The Gan Jewish Preschool confirmed in a written statement that its armed private security officer had shot a man who had threatened and assaulted him.

“During this interaction, the individual presented a direct threat to the guard. In response, the guard was forced to take protective action, using his licensed weapon to defend himself,” the statement read.

The Portland Police Bureau says no arrests have been made and the security officer is cooperating; however, the investigation is ongoing, and it is not ruling out the possibility of charges in the future.

“We’re trying to determine whether the person was armed or whether there was some kind of threat to the life of anyone else or the security guard. We don’t have any confirmation on that. We still have to talk to witnesses. We’ve begun speaking with the security guard involved, of course, but we have not had a chance to do a full interview to get a lot of those details,” said police spokesperson Sgt. Kevin Allen.

The school’s statement noted that it did not believe the school had been targeted or that there was any religious bias behind the man’s actions. However, it pointed out that the school hired private security because of threats to the Jewish community.

Who doesn’t like a trifecta of FGS FIRST thing of a Mother’s Day Morning? Tho it is obvious that some Mothers don’t give proper home training…or the home training didn’t take. Pity! Now the surviving perps will have the loving touch of a new “Prison Daddy” for parental guidance.

Just cause it LOOKS like a 1911…doesn’t mean it IS a 1911. A REAL 1911 is of the proper caliber, as decreed by HMS, JMB, (HBHN) and made of metal.

Speaking of “looks like”…Looks like That Lady in Red with The Ginger Head Ms Thang is not doing a very good job of “concealing her weapons”.

JMB had a nice design, but it wasn’t his best work. His latest showed a definite progression with the High Power. Pity the frogs demanded the silly magazine “safety”. No mag in the gun, gun no workee. Stupid.

Personally, I like the double stack idea with a 1911 format. The good trigger and potential accuracy with more freedom seeds inside. What’s not to love?

RE the Deputy and the stabbee. My old Dept forbid the carry of a back up piece so many of us carried a knife. I had a dagger and sheath in my left boot top. Back then the Uniform footwear was roper boots. Fortunately, I never had to use the knife.
