Victims stabbed during Iberia Parish home break-in; suspect shot by homeowner during second break-in
IBERIA PARISH, La. — Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a home invasion and stabbing in the 4900 and 5000 block of Dolphin Street in Iberia Parish on Thursday, October 31, around 6 p.m.
Detectives arrived on scene and assumed control of the investigation.
Upon arrival, deputies located suspect, Casey Meaux, 47, of Lafayette, who was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the chest. The wound was inflicted by the owner of the second residence during the invasion.
Both the victims and Meaux were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
Meaux has been arrested and is currently facing the following charges:
Home Invasion (2 counts)
Attempted First-Degree Murder (2 counts)

When they remove the tubes from your chest. The doctor says take a deep breath and hold it. I hope they don’t tell the bad guy that and let him endure the pain of having his lung deflate again, just for some additional punishment. Good way to teach bad guys a lesson.
