Police searching for armed robbery suspect after shootout near Buckhead condo
ATLANTA — Police are still searching for a man who robbed a U.S. Postal worker at gunpoint on Thursday.

The robbery then led to a shootout, turning the Eclipse apartment complex near Buckhead Village into a battleground.

In broad daylight, a masked man allegedly tried to steal the keys from a post office worker in this garage. But when a bystander saw what was going on, he shot at the suspect, who then fired back.

Residents recalled the moments of the shooting.

Luckily, no one was hit in the crossfire. But the emotional wounds of a daylight shooting will be felt long after the crime scene goes away.

Toronto jury acquits man who admitted to double shotgun killing, accepting claim of self-defence
Karim Cadoo had “no choice but to react, no choice but to defend himself,” his lawyer argued.

By Jacques Gallant
Karim Cadoo admitted he shot a man in the back with a shotgun at close range in a Scarborough parking lot, before shooting another man twice — the second time while he was already mortally wounded on the ground.

The incident on the evening of June 13, 2021 was partly caught on video — but it was self-defence, Cadoo would later tell the jury at his murder trial. Mohamed Moallim, 23, and Daniel Fung, 25, were armed, Cadoo testified — although no guns belonging to the victims were found at the scene — and he feared for the life of a friend he was with.

The jury believed him.

Last week, Cadoo was acquitted of two counts of first-degree murder, as were his alleged accomplices, his brother Elvis Cadoo and Elvis’s friend, Imron Samuel.

By finding the trio not guilty, the jurors rejected the Crown’s theory that this was a co-ordinated “ambush” in which Karim Cadoo shot the victims while Elvis Cadoo and Samuel, both armed, blocked the escape route.

After spending three years in custody, Samuel, 40, and Elvis Cadoo, 27, walked out of the prisoner’s box after the verdict last Wednesday evening. Karim Cadoo, a 29-year-old appliance deliveryman with no criminal record, was released the following day.

Toronto man admits to shooting someone in the back, but the jury finds him “not guilty” of murder.
I LOVE jury nullification.
I’m sure the judge didn’t add that to the instructions.
i have to wonder who on the jury was educated enough to know about jury nullification?
Or who outside the jury was able to slip that bit of education in to the jury?
Possibly someone in the jury pool who wasn’t selected for the final jury?
In any case, well done!

The Atlanta story. Prime example as to why one should carry concealed, every.where.you.go.

Toronto? Prime example that you never know how a jury will vote. Seems like them boys got lucky…real lucky.

Guys, I don’t mean to be an asshole, though it does readily come to me to be one. Is this not the anniversary of the Atomic Bomb exercise on Hiroshima?

It is not an FGS, just an anniversary of a very significant event in our common history.

Japan had it coming and it GOT there. Surely most of y’all know about this stuff?
